When we talk about art, few places are more magical than a stage. in the of Table of the Villa some chairs are seen, the chords of the guitars sound and palms are heard to the beat. This new flamenco mecca has reached Madrid to stay . And she plans to get us all dancing.

Before you know it, you will be hitting your table discreetly to the sound of music, because the Tablao De la Villa has come fully equipped to make fans enjoy this traditional art: impeccable acoustics, careful lighting and impeccable visibility.

This new addition to the flamenco map of Madrid it only reaffirms that the capital, with the permission of Andalusia, also has a lot to say in this cultural event. The south saw her grow up and Madrid fell in love with her, and thus flamenco cafes and tablaos began to emerge in the 19th and 20th centuries.

Hall of the Tablao de la Villa

The flamenco (and gastronomic) map of Madrid has a new addition.

And history is precisely what is breathed in the Tablao De la Villa, starting with its location: it opens its doors in a 19th century mansion-palace , In the city center. "Nothing better than a space that had already been, for the last 50 years, a flamenco tablao," Gonzalo Mendoza, one of the names behind the opening, tells us.

And it is that the new tablao is located in the old Café de Chinitas . After more than a year of reforms, the Tablao is now reborn maintaining the stage, with a more minimalist project in which ornamentation is replaced by simplicity.

There are four faces that hide behind this inauguration. Yes Gonzalo and Lorraine they have been in love with flamenco for years, Elena and Santiago Bello they are from the world of hospitality. This is how the perfect team is created to give rise, not only to a tablao, but also to a tavern, because yes, we have also come here to eat.

OPENING MOUTH

You come to the Tablao de la Villa to enjoy yourself, but not only with contemplation. Gastronomy is, never better said, another of its main dishes. In command of the kitchen is chef Alejandro Jaen , with a long history behind him, of which the Corral de la Morería kitchen is part, in which he was head for eight years.

Flamenco being such a deep-rooted Spanish tradition, the cuisine could not be less traditional, nor less Spanish. Dishes such as squid muffin with aioli, sweet Iberian cheeks with Pedro Ximénez with truffled mashed potatoes, salmon with leek cream and asparagus, beef shank with glazed apple, or suckling shoulder , just to mention a few.

The offer is a succession of recipes divided into different menus that are called Thyme, Rosemary or Peppermint , and in which there is no lack of an Andalusian gazpacho or some Iberian ham croquettes. But vegetarians will also find their place here with a special menu made up of Candied artichokes with romesco sauce or piquillo peppers navarros stuffed with vegetables, among others.
