The pandemic continues the magic without stopping, if the Virtual Magical World has been a getaway and an open window to entertainment from home, so it continues on its night dedicated to its original pages. The Bloomsbury publishing house, organizer of the event for seven years, decided that the first Thursday of February would once again be a special date for wizards, witches and, yes, Muggles. The next Harry Potter Book Night returns on February 4 in a virtual version (albeit with some controlled event) and moves the physical celebration to June 24.

“Given the current situation, in which large-scale meetings are not possible now, we have ensured that activities and ideas can be easily adapted to groups of any size, and many will be suitable for virtual events”, they say from the publisher that has the rights to the books in English for all of Europe.

Each year, the celebration chooses a theme related to the Potterian universe. If last year was all revolved around The Triwizard Tournament, this year the chosen scenario will be the Diagon Alley, that incredible place where wizards can buy everything they need for their spells: wands, owls, cauldrons... That alley that is still alive in the Warner Bros. studios in London, but temporarily closed this year due to the pandemic.
Coloring sheets, quizzes to test your knowledge about the books, word searches, trivia, videos, games and guides for crafts, how to design your own dragon… are some of the materials that Bloomsbury puts available to fans directly or to teachers and schools so that they continue to make the first Thursday of February a magical date.

One of the schools that signs up again for Harry Potter Book Night is Letrimagic. Through virtual meetings, their teachers will guide the apprentice wizards with maps, 3D and simulations in the world of Harry and co. The trip to Hogwarts is offered for free and then you can hire painting workshops or magical skills.
The Gran Vía Book House, in Madrid, also joins the reading celebration asking for a spell to protect us this year: between February 4 and 7, if you pass by, write the spell on the board, take a picture and the most voted, will win a Harry Potter and Diagon Alley book.
