The Museum of Contemporary Art of Catalonia , MACBA , is premiering. This July has opened a vermouth and cafeteria that seeks to be a meeting point and place of welcome to improve the visitor's experience. "An open, dynamic and stimulating space" , they define it.

The architectural project has been designed and conceptualized by Llamazares Pomés Architecture Y Eskubi-Turro Architects , together with the MACBA architecture team seeking to create a space with light, hence the large windows, as well as a warm and intimate place.

The winning proposal of the contest to operate the cafeteria service was the one presented by Chichalimona , led by Sara Reixach and Víctor Burgués. MACBA CAFÈ Chichalimoná is designed for everyone from those who expressly come to the museum or for those who are simply passing through.

“For the people of the neighborhood and the city, for those who work in the museum, for the visitors and those who enjoy it. The essence of Chichalimoná consists of combining different proposals for different times of the day ”, they point out.

What will you find in your vermouth? Chichalimoná was already a gastronomic vermouth founded in 2015 with a menu specializing in dishes, seasonal and signature tapas based on fresh, quality local produce.

The personal project of Sara Reixach and Victor Burgués has now become a space to pause and relax. So what do you think about starting your cultural journey here with a good breakfast? They will not miss organic eggs, homemade cakes, artisan breads , and vegetarian, vegan and celiac proposals.

In their menu you will find a mediterranean cuisine with dishes with an avant-garde and international touch, for this they have suppliers and a selection of products with history and quality. So all the more reason there will be proposals of the day in your letter.

The sustainable kitchen will also be your starting point, with market ingredients and based on seasonality and organic farming , whenever possible. For this reason, the menu is seasonal and will change twice a year. You will also find in it organic wines and vermouths from neighborhood providers.

Gastronomy, art and culture go hand in hand in this multidisciplinary space, for this reason the users of the cafeteria and vermouth can enjoy a privileged space in the meier building , where an imposing large window breaks the barrier between outside and inside and floods it with natural light, or on the terrace of Plaça dels Àngels.
