A retreat with hundreds of books

Be honest: How long have you wanted to start that book that does nothing but go around your nightstand? If it were up to us to answer, we would answer that a lot, too much! Because in reality, when do you have time to read? And we don't say stumbling while standing on the subway, but savoring it, savoring each page, as we did during childhood summer vacations.

For those who also cannot find the space that their readings deserve, Bookworm Cabin , something like "the voracious reader's cabin" . And, of course, it is found in the kind of landscape you think of when you imagine the perfect corner to read.

In fact, he was looking at the beautiful forest of Choszczowe village , 45 minutes from warsaw , when Marta Puchalska-Kraciuk and Bartłomiej Kraciuk, husband and wife, had the idea of building the precious shelter.

A perfect landscape to forget everything

"The view from the dune played a big role in how this concept evolved," Bartlomiej tells us. "I loved it look at this landscape , but how long can you do that? Maybe more if you're indoors in front of a big window , sitting in a comfortable chair. Still, how long can you stand there doing nothing? It was then that the idea of fill a hut with books ”.

Marta, his wife, was in charge of designing its interior, with VOX furniture, together with her architecture studio, MP Studio Architektury . Of choose the books , among which there are lots of thrillers -although also some Nobel and Pulitzer prize- was commissioned by the publisher Albatros, hosting partner. There is also a small section dedicated to the kitchen, from the personal library of the owners. Of course, they are all in Polish.

For the exterior, characterized by a huge glass facade of almost five meters high -which can be easily closed with wooden gates-, the couple adapted a type cabin from the firm POLE Architekci. “We made minor changes to the colors, the window layout and some interior components and the house was ready,” recalls Bartłomiej.

An interior with everything you need

“When creating this space, we wanted to implement comfort and thoughtful design, but in a place that merges as much as possible with nature. The cabin is a corner to read books comfortably throughout the year. For us, less really means more”, the creators point out. “We don't have Wi-Fi and coverage is patchy. That gives you the **perfect opportunity to put your phone away**. The house has everything you need and nothing more!”

By “everything you need” they mean “an intimate cabin for two, with a bathroom and a kitchen, equipped with a wall full of books, an extraordinary view, a fireplace and the time and space to finally disconnect”, as and as they break down on their website. The description is enough to have fallen in love with hundreds of people since the accommodation was set up last June: They don't have any free weekends until August!

Of course, according to what its owners tell us, the place does not usually attract a single profile of travelers, although, if there is something that all the guests of this particular cabin have in common, it is "your kindness" . “I get so many thank you notes and compliments on how good you felt during your stay at the cabin. It is the most rewarding part of this project,” says Bartłomiej, who is in charge of managing the day-to-day running of the shelter.

just for two

Those who are clearly not the target audience of the Bookworm Cabin are **children, as they are not allowed** : “The cabin is only for two adults. We have children ourselves and we know how much a break from parenthood is sometimes needed. Do yourself a favor and leave your kids at home,” advises the couple.

WHAT TO DO IN THE SURROUNDINGS?

Actually, nothing! “Without anything special to do around, we hope our guests get bored! In an overstimulated world, looking at trees all day is a blessing. We give them a perfect place to finally focus, sit back, unwind and just be, without obligation. Of course, the views are beautiful and you can go for a walk all day if you want. I just hope they don't forget to read that book that they never have time to finish…”, concludes Bartłomiej.
