Everest, more than a mountain, a legend
The colossal mission of portraying these climbs has been carried out by the virtual reality expert and technical director of the project , Matthias Taugwalder, who started the adventure two years ago with the Mammut mountain sports brand in collaboration with the communication agency Heye Grid. " #project360 started when we captured all the ascent of the north face of the Eiger for the first time. To do this, we develop a special camera system with a backpack and a bucket of six gopro that record 360 images and videos at regular intervals. Since then, we have captured more than 40 routes in the Alps and around the world , and now the mountain Everest is the highlight of this project," explains Taugwalder.
Thus, the Eiger, a mountain of 3,970 meters high in the Bernese Alps of Switzerland, it was the first milestone for the 360 artist team, but higher goals were soon set. To achieve them, it was essential to have specialists . In the case of Everest, it was Sherpas Lakpa and Pemba Rinji who, with the support of their colleagues Ang Kaji Sherpa and Kusang Sherpa, have become the first men in the world to document the entire South route towards the summit of Mount Everest with a 360 camera.
