The atypical artist surprises us once again. This time, as the inspirer and creator of the latest nocturnal/artistic universe in Paris: the Silence Club . Everything from interior architecture to furniture design bears the 'Lynch' signature. We enter the underground club to discover what he himself calls "an unprecedented experience".

It's midnight in Paris. The witching hour in which the Cinderellas must return home, but also the hour in which the Silencio Club finally opens its doors to the public. Before, only members and their companions have been able to access the exclusive venue to enjoy themselves with a complete program that ranges from film screenings to exhibitions or colloquiums.

We are at 142 Rue Montmartre near the Paris Stock Exchange, place chosen to house this "laboratory for the dissemination of art and culture" entirely conceived by the American filmmaker. Nothing on the façade makes one suspect what is inside, not a sign, not a poster... just a black entrance and two burly doormen who attentively guard the door.

Inside, the unmistakable stamp of David Lynch is evident. Black and gold are the main colors and the distribution of the place reminds us of the labyrinthine structure of its surreal plots.

Being here is like suddenly walking into one of his haunting productions. Not in vain, the venue's name refers to 'Mulholland Drive' (film nominated for the Oscars in 2001 and one of his best known films). In the film, the two protagonists -Laura Harring and Naomi Watts- delve into the strange Silencio theater”, a dream world in which anything is possible.

In the words of the director himself, this adventure begins as "the desire to create a intimate space where all artistic disciplines had a place ; where filmmakers, plastic artists, musicians, writers, designers, chefs... had the opportunity to meet and not only dialogue with each other but also with a different audience of all ages”.

David Lynch has captured his long-awaited vision of 'Global Art' in the Silencio Club. And so we find ourselves with a motley amalgamation of painters, musicians, publishers, DJs... but also ordinary people, young people and others not so young. It is this varied mix of audiences that gives meaning to Lynch's project. Q that everyone, without exception, can enjoy art.

The ambitious dream of the American is reflected in an impressive space of 650 m2, where the roof and walls are made of wooden bricks covered with gold leaves. The arrangement of these pieces is completely random following the model of the Indian Mandalas. The rug, the 1950s style furniture... everything has strictly followed Lynch's creative guidelines.

The Silent Club is divided into several spaces: a concert hall (where established artists and young promises are regularly invited), a magnificent cinema with weekly screenings, an art library, a dance floor animated by eclectic DJs, a to smoke in the manner of an enchanted forest... and in the magnificent _Art Déc_o bar, the waiters strive to serve customers a cocktail adjusted to their mood. "How are you feeling today? Tired? Well, I recommend something with lemon and ginger." Because, would the enjoyment of art be the same without a good drink in your hands?
