Alembic is the oldest store in objects for the kitchen from Madrid. Since 1978 , near the Royal Palace, has maintained the same appearance of motley hardware dedicated only to the kitchen.
In this store you can find everything and what you don't find, you probably don't need.
Starting with your confectionery section and ending with the wines , any utensil that a professional kitchen may have, here is its counterpart in 'pro' or amateur version.
Everything you need for your home (and much more)
I especially like, your selection of basics , like the large professional cutting boards , peelers in a thousand ways or knives for any utility you can think of.
If you don't need anything, which seems impossible to me, you can sign up for your cooking classes that are taught in the same store, and of which I would highlight the magnificent ones dedicated to pasta.

when someone asks me what is luxury For me, I can say that it is the bespoke linen house linen . Sheets, towels, tablecloths and napkins with borders, initials, or damask fabrics... They are and will always be the height of sophistication in this serialized world in which we live.
Every time I go down Colón, I tremble with the idea that one of the few stores that remain from a lifetime will disappear, but when I see its windows I calm down since I think that gentrification will not be able to with it.
I highly recommend the tablecloths , which last a lifetime, and the quality of the cotton or linen makes them indestructible to wash the most recalcitrant stains.

Despite having been in Madrid for less than a year, for many of us it has become a fixed place of pilgrimage on walks through the center . This tiny shop has specialized in items timeless, genuine and functional , to which I would add the tagline of classics.
What do you need? A brush with a wooden handle to clean crumbs from the table? No problem, they have it. A metal shower that really irrigates from a distance? They have it too. your objects they go beyond the adjective of useful, adding that of beautiful, And yes, it has no competition.

HOUSE FISH _(Regueros street, 2) _
With this store landed the current French chic in Madrid. Its owners are responsible for the Pez store on the same Regueros street, and for a long time, they had a store in the basement. selection of decorative objects as exquisite as your clothes . By splitting off the stores, these objects have finally found their own space to display.
Absolutely enraptured, I find myself with two products: Honoré's lemon tree plates and Astier de Villate's crockery, which they reconcile you with the silversmith world at a stroke.
DO DESIGN _(Fernando VI street, 13) _
I find it hard to tell in a single paragraph everything that Do brings to your home . Its owner, Lucía, carefully selects each brand that she sells and, despite coming from styles as disparate as Japanese or Swedish, everything blends perfectly.
here you can find plates, glasses and jars of fine glass , mixed with tablecloths and even brooms that are scary to use . Every kind of bowls, trays and wicker objects (fans or baskets) or perfect notebooks to write down the recipes you cook every day.
Entering the universe of Do is immersing yourself in an ideal world where all colors and fabrics mix perfectly with each other. with elegance and naturalness.

MUJI _(Goya Street, 9) _
For those of us who live in Madrid or travel a lot, Muji is an old acquaintance, but for everyone it is a place that gives great joy from the moment you walk through its door.
The Japanese giant does not sell its entire catalog outside of Japan (I admit that I almost cried in its Tokyo store from where I came back loaded with things), but the selection is well worth it.
The kitchen part is very complete. However, the one that always leaves me speechless is cleaning , where a simple mop becomes a worthy white piece descendant of Apple with a special box to store it. Everything in this store is basic and addictive.
Madrid live a fantastic era of boiling gourmet shops , that are educating in the beauty of everyday objects and that, incidentally, make our lives much better.
