HOW DOES IT WORK
"The idea arose in Barcelona in 2012. We wondered why the minimum reservation in a hotel was 22 hours . Let us remember that if we count the usual check-in time, at 2:00 p.m., and check-out, at 12:00 p.m., 24 hours are not fulfilled. Does everyone really only need hotel nights? And come and go at the same time? It was then that we decided to launch a model based on flexibility," Christian Rodriguez, founder and CEO of BY HOURS, tells Traveler.es.

In this way, you can make a video call quietly without looking for the loneliest and quietest coffee shop in the city, work a few hours with air conditioning, take a shower or enjoy a pool.

How? You just have to select the destination where you are going to be, the dates and times. This is where you can choose between packs of three, six or twelve hours , you can also choose the check-in time. And you can do it in hotels of 3 to 5 stars, as well as in luxury hotels.
You will only pay an advance of 3 to 5 euros, depending on the hotel, and once there you will pay the rest. If for example you travel with your pet or with a large family , you also have the possibility of booking by hours, you just have to contact them beforehand and make your query.
And the price? "The price varies according to the category of the hotel, city or time of year, and it is always set by the same hotelier. We recommend and rate that on average the three-hour pack is around 43% of the online price of the room during the night ; the six-hour pack, around 50%, and the 12-hour pack would come to suppose 75%. In all cases we ensure that the price of our packs is always lower to a normal reservation at night on other platforms," Christian told Traveler.es.
