This town with such a peculiar and danceable name is located in the Granada Alpujarra ; and together with Bubión and Capileira it is Historical Artistic Complex . Returning to its name, it descends from the Latin, "pampinarius, pampinaria, pampinarium", and means land of vineyards because although its main activity now is tourism formerly it was dedicated to the vineyards.
The Berber architecture of its houses and streets, and its height at 1,058 meters above sea level, make it a essential tourist enclave . The Barrio Bajo, Calle Real, Paseo García Lorca and the Tinao del Pescado where fish was once sold; the terraos and the craft shops are what you cannot miss if you visit.

CAPILEIRA
As its name indicates (means at the top of the ravine) Capileira is located at 1,500 meters above sea level , is the highest town of the three located in the Poqueira Ravine and the second highest in Spain. From here you will have magnificent views of the peaks of the Mulhacen and the Veleta . Do not stay alone in the views and take the opportunity to visit them.
Capileira is part of the Sierra Nevada Natural Park and is characterized by being one of the quietest and best preserved towns in the area. Its inhabitants have always had a reputation for taking good care of their natural heritage with landscapes and a typical Alpujarra old town worthy of photography.
The origins of the town are Phoenician, Roman and Visigothic, although the most influential architecture has been Berber. Its viewpoints are its best kept treasure.

MONTEFRIO
The Montefrío's history dates back to 4500 BC. , already in 1700 it had 5,000 inhabitants that came to double in subsequent centuries, which is why it preserves numerous monuments of great value such as the amazing Castillo de la Villa, several churches, a Roman bridge and even a Visigothic necropolis.
The good thing about this town located in the Loja region is its gastronomy with typical dishes such as soaking of San Marcos , asparagus gazpacho, cold anchovy soup, meatballs in broth, ajimili potatoes , the brothy rice with loin and chorizo ...and so we could be without stopping.
Trevelez.
TREVELEZ
You have been lost in Trevélez, this town in the Sierra Nevada National Park, many things mainly its ham with denomination of origin , its Cherry tomatoes and one of the best trout rivers in Spain.
Its origin dates back to the Romans but the current Trevélez has more to do with its Arab and Christian past. But it will be in the XIX century when the english travelers start setting up bucolic golden which he has today.
