The sixth edition of Concentric is here to turn Logroño upside down!
Concentric is not what anyone can expect from an architecture festival. That and much more. It is an opportunity to get to know Logroño , not only for travelers, but also for its inhabitants. It is an embrace of tradition and history, at the forefront and the future. It is a new perspective of its emblematic places , converted into the last cry of design.
It is not a question of a handful of ground-breaking installations, but of masterpieces of architecture that join the past in an attempt to return to discover squares, patios, streets and monuments in which we do not usually notice in everyday life. National and international designers come from all over the world and turn the Riojan capital into the city of the future.
This sixth edition baptized as Concentric 06 , reschedules, beyond the obvious, a long list of exhibitions, meetings, activities and performances that will take place throughout the city in an open invitation to all citizens to reflect on your own home.

LOCATIONS AND ARTISTS
The scenarios that make up the Concentric 06 program are characterized by their peculiarity. Is about interior courtyards, hidden spaces or new squares that, despite being in important locations for the city, currently they hardly enjoy traffic . The festival makes them stop going unnoticed and start being an active part of the landscape.
Along with these, this year, the variety of the artists is equal to their nationalities . We could not list all the attendees but we can give some brushstrokes of the designs that are coming. With complete certainty, these works are going to make start planning your next trip to Logroño.
Gregor Schneider arrives from Germany with Kreuzweg to land in the Market Square . There he will settle a big black cross , with four openings through which spectators can enter and exit. bliss silhouette can only be seen from a bird's eye view, like a god , since inside the visitors they will not be able to notice its outline (and hardly any of their own) due to the total darkness.
Architecture merges with urban furniture in Concentrico.
We now travel to Poland with Iza Rutkowska that she has chosen the Paseo del Espolón to install her work Equestrian statue . In a denunciation of the glorification of wars represented by the usual statues of men on horseback, the artist confronts a giant toy horse at the Monument to Espartero.
This time empty, free, invite everyone who passes by to climb to its top as a child's game and in a clear simile with the transformation of the Trojan horse. Thus, on a horse this time designed by a woman, Iza invites think about injustice in design.
The architecture and design studio Mechanism will be the representative of Spain with his work Banquín . With the purpose of reflecting on our daily life, they provide one of the most common elements of street furniture as is the bank, of a new personality. Instead of separating and individualizing, Banquín invites interaction and social relations.
In this way, they intervene creating a single piece, this time longer, which it curves creating a seesaw to large dimensions . A new interpretation of a simple bench that, due to its play and structure, generates relationships between those who approach to try it.
Artists from all over the world transform Logroño into the city of the future!
And so, between a geometric garden, arches that run 40 meters, parking spaces converted into circuses or colorful platforms that simulate a large picnic blanket, the artists will have the opportunity to exhibit your designs from September 3 to 6 . A large number of works that start a dialogue between citizens and their urban environment.
EXHIBITIONS
In addition to the installations that will occupy the streets of Logroño, there are also exhibitions worth visiting. Reverberation Pavilion, by the CENTRALA collective , makes a review of the history of architecture through natural phenomena . A discovery of how atmospheric events, gravity or the circulation of water become a reality in construction materials.
Life is a lethal experiment It will be the exhibition that completes this program. The art furniture collection of Finnish artist Tuomas Kuure enhances cabinetry details in a declaration of love to art and decoration , taking a step beyond mere functionality.
This could be classified as an appetizer of what is really about to arrive with Concentrico 06. Citizens will feel that they are walking through a different town and the artists will turn Logroño into the cradle of contemporary art and avant-garde architecture . (From September 3 to 6, Logroño)
