Reflection
Concentric , the ** Logroño International Architecture and Design Festival **, never ceases to amaze us.
If two years ago it was the students of the Superior School of Design of La Rioja who gave a master class with the intervention Fragmented Patio: Architecture for cats – with which they dignified the dwelling of these stray animals in the Museum of La Rioja – and last year a giant origami replaced paper with wood in Plaza Escuelas Trevijano, today they are the models of the Migrant Garden exhibition. Untouchable Landscapes the ones that catch our attention.
Because –in addition to the wonderful urban interventions with which the festival aims to make people reflect, observe and arouse interest in the city– they complete its program: exhibitions, activities and performances signed by renowned architecture and interdisciplinary studios.

THE EXHIBITIONS
Concentric 04 formulated the questions "What happens if you are forced to leave your house?", "A place that you consider home" and "What will be the consequences and appearance of this new type of domesticity?" to 40 prestigious architects and intellectuals from around the world and the result is a bird's nest forest composed of their answers in the form of models (24x24x24cm).
In the sample, entitled Migrant Garden. Untouchable Landscapes, there are original pieces from the MVRDV, Go Hasegawa, Pezo Von Ellrichshausen, Michele De Lucchi, Purini-Thermes and Beniamino Servino studios. From April 26 to May 20, in the chapel of La Bene Calle Marqués (Murrieta, 76).
The great wooden zeppelin nicknamed Gulliver, with which Martin Rajniš crowned the roofs of the Dox, a famous contemporary art center in Prague, two years ago, will be one of the highlights of the exhibition HAMR – Huť architektury Martin Rajniš (Exhibition room of the Logroño City Council, at Avenida de la Paz, 11, from April 26 to May 20).
And no, it is not that they have moved this giant wooden structure weighing 450 tons to Logroño – an action that we could very well expect in future editions of Concentrico, if the festival continues with this escalation of prestige and originality – but that we will have the opportunity to delve into the work of the Czech architect thanks to a compilation of drawings and photographs of his complex projects (Martin Rajniš himself will participate in the festival with a conference given on Saturday, April 28 at 7:30 p.m.).

The presence and collaboration of the Escuela Superior de Diseño de La Rioja, associated with the festival since its first edition, will be noted in various formats: an installation, a workshop, a conference and an exhibition I'm design, which seeks to highlight the importance of this creative discipline for society. From April 26 to May 27, in the ESDIR exhibition hall (Av. de la Paz, 9).
In addition, since last April 20, in the exhibition hall of the Official College of Architects of La Rioja, you can already see the 128 projects submitted to the Contest to participate in this year's festival.
OTHER ACTIVITIES
As part of the Encounters program on curating, research, dissemination and teaching of architecture and design of Concentrico 04, the expert architects, content managers and curators Andreia Garcia, Antoine Aubinais, Michał Piernikowski and Pola Mora will talk in an open and relaxed way about the role of architecture and design in the international context.
Publishers in the city: the case of Caniche Editorial and Ediciones Rua is an alternative proposal that aims to bring Concentric to literature with the presentation of the books Historia de la Fuerza, by David Bestué, and Fisura, by Ignacio Vleming (on the 28th and 30th respectively) . It will be done in collaboration with the Santos Ochoa bookstore, which on the occasion of the festival will also organize free-entry workshops for children, given by the bookstore specializing in children's and youth literature Rebeca Terroba.
