The best countries to travel alone in 2019
It goes without saying that we have never been alone, that we have never stopped travelling, that nothing has ever stopped us from discovering countries, sailing seas, traveling the world on a motorcycle, even on a two-horse... There is nothing that stands in our way. before we can't TRAVEL and experience.
It is true, however, that there are countries that make it easier for us , where discrimination or insecurity is not so evident for a traveler who decides to explore a destination alone (although we have not yet found the chimera of equality where there is no misogyny; we are still looking for it...).
“Nearly two-thirds of today's travelers are women and in 2017 searches under the terms ' solo female traveler ' reached 100 million searches; on Pinterest there has also been a 350% increase in women pinning solo travel ideas since 2014. ampersand (a London-based luxury tour operator and which specializes in tailor-made travel to Asia, South Africa and the British Isles) in the introduction to their report.

THE METHODOLOGY
“We have made a ranking according to these factors and trying to deduce which are the best for women who travel alone”, they explain from ampersand in her report. To do this, they took as a basis numerous reports on women traveling alone to deduce, first of all, what basic aspects would be measured.
These turned out to be their basic study scales (and based on two separate studies for each one):
Security (crime rate)
Women rights (2017 Gender Gap Rate)
Culture (tangible and intangible heritage registered with UNESCO)
Scenery (Travel and Tourism Competitiveness rating)
Adventure (2018 Best Countries Ranking for Adventure)
Instagram (Number of hashtags from each country on Instagram)
Gastronomy (number of cities included in the 2017 Best Cities Food Ranking)
Volunteering (World Giving Index Volunteering Score)
Lifestyle, security, crime rates and beauty of the destination, are these the main concepts that we take into account when buying the ticket?
The next step was to search for the most recent ranking of destinations to solo female travelers (the one from the 2017 US News political analysis magazine whose methodology you can consult here) .
We go?
They studied all the scales in each of the countries in the US News ranking “using a variety of sources, including the crime statistics of each country, the 2017 gender gap report, the number of Instagram hashtags of each destination ... as well as the opportunities to volunteer in the country or the wealth of tangible and intangible heritage”. And scoring them from 1 to 5 in each category (5 being the highest score).
NUMBER 1
And... which country of all those in the world turned out to be number 1? Japan .
“With more than 30 national parks in a relatively small area, with environments as diverse as volcanoes, forests, beaches and underwater habitats (…) Japan has also scored high due to the incredibly low level of crime, which is always an important factor when considering travel alone”, they conclude in the report.
It is closely followed by two Europeans: France and Spain. Spain obtains an enviable score in gastronomy and landscape.
