The project Fuenlabrada Geek! still windy. It started with the exhibition dedicated to Superman, which hosted more than 15,000 visits during the first quarter of 2022. As promised, every three months there will be a new one, always in the Multipurpose Room of the Tomás y Valiente Art Center (CEART) in Fuenlabrada (C/ Leganés, 51).

The next ones were going to be about pop culture franchises as well known as starwars either The Lord of the rings, but they have been ahead of transformers. Robots that are already waiting for you for free (from Thursday to Sunday) and will remain until the next June 18.

the creator of Fuenlabrada Geek! (in collaboration with the Madrid City Council) and curator of all the exhibitions, Charles Martin, explains to us that “It was a unique opportunity. From the hand of Transformers Central, an association of collectors of Transformers from Madrid, we were presented with the unique opportunity to bring together ten of the best collectors in Spain and merge your collections into the one that has become the biggest exposure made in Spain to date. It was now or never. And the Transformers series is as universal as any other we've talked about."

These famous alien robots were born in 1984 fruit of the collaboration between the toy companies Hasbro and Takara Tomy. the eternal fight Between good and bad, arrival on Earth from the planet Cybertron, was represented with the Autobots (led by Optimus Prime) and the Decepticons (led by Megatron). In all these years they have become popular thanks to series of drawings, comics and films.

However, what has always caused the greatest fascination are their action figures, true engineering works capable of transforming into anything (usually vehicles, weapons or animals). It is not surprising, therefore, that the bulk of the exhibition focus on them. Carlos, who claims not to have “not a single Transformers figure. And he looks what I have geeks”, he points out that “from Superman's experience, it's what most appeals to the general public. The most spectacular. For example, comics or artwork is very unattractive museum-wise, and we must not forget that CEART is an art center, a museum. Logically, each collection contains some elements and we will try to take advantage of any of them, but in this case, one of the challenges was to bring together the largest number of figures ever exhibited. I have to say that there is none, of the 1,300, repeated. And we will find everything, first generations, 3d figures, customs...”.

It is a real delight for our eyes, which will not know where to look before the huge number of figures, distributed in different showcases in chronological order to tell us their story. There are of all sizes, generations and tastes. Likewise, the exhibition hall is decorated, in addition to the scamez graffiti, with a recreation of the control panel of the ship of the Autobots: the mythical Teletraan I.

Martin admits that “The culprits are Aitor Moreno and Rafael Carmona, two great artists who from one 3d replica They built it from scratch, in wood, in just ten days. It was a challenge to have it on that scale, since only one smaller one has been known in Latin America for a long time. It is a work of art in itself.”

Although this time there will be no screenings, we will have another type of activities parallel to the exhibition on weekends: “Talks, face painting, contests, markets, etcetera”, says Carlos. "We hope that no one misses it," he says.
