Sky Pool: the most peculiar pool in the London neighborhood.

This project is born in the heart of Nine Elms, a relatively new neighborhood that has stood out for its rapid transformation and its modern constructions , translated into tall buildings of the latest design. In charge of the design of this floating pool are HAL Architects, in collaboration with Ballymore Properties , in a continuation of the first phase of Embassy Gardens, a plan that was immediately successful.
The Nine Elms neighborhood just got even more interesting.
In this second phase, construction amounts to 872 new homes that enjoy all kinds of comforts : a rooftop bar, gym or even areas for telecommuting. However, what has attracted the most attention is that pool suspended in the air linking two of the buildings. Apart from its functionality, Sky Pool is set to become London's newest architectural whim and in a new attraction for tourists and citizens.
The images already give clues to the impression that this new construction can cause. It is 35 meters above the ground, exactly, and 15 meters between the buildings . Its capacity is 148,000 liters of water and will serve as a connection between the residents of both houses. Can you imagine visiting your neighbors swimming?
Its structure was subjected to numerous tests prior to its construction, so that, once erected, traveled all over the world from Colorado, through Texas or Antwerp until finally arriving at what would be his home in London. To choose the materials, those responsible were inspired by some of the most spectacular aquariums in the world . The result has been a body made with strong acrylic material.
Sky Pool will connect both buildings from the rooftop.
