The pandemic has limited our mobility, but not creativity or the desire to travel. And so it shows Jesús Porras, CEO of the hamburger chain La H es Muda, who had the idea of taking his guests to other countries through his recipes.
“We wanted to bring to Madrid new flavors and combinations that would amuse our customers, so we created 12 new hamburgers that represented 12 countries we would like to visit”.
The month of January pays tribute to India with 'Hanita', a crispy chicken burger with arugula, red onion, tomato and sautéed mushrooms, spiced with mango and curry mayonnaise, served on a bread inspired by the typical Indian Naan.
The recipe commemorates the military parade that runs through New Delhi on January 26, on the occasion of the anniversary of the entry into force of the Indian Constitution and therefore of independence from the British Empire.

This burger trip continues in February, when we will travel to China with an experience based on fried bao bread, beef and our own version of ChiuChow sauce. This year marks the year of the ox according to Chinese astrology, so it's no wonder that this month's burger pays tribute to this bovine, which represents prosperity achieved through strength and hard work.
In March we will return to Europe to taste a real French meat sandwich, served on a baguette bread in the purest style of our neighbors to the north.
The next destinations on this hamburger itinerary will be The Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Venezuela, Mexico, Germany, Argentina, the Dominican Republic and the USA. On what we can expect from the rest of the hamburgers, Jesús Porras has not said much more either, he has only added that "The ingredients will be surprises to the palate and native to each region."

EVERYTHING TO THE HACHE
Part of the beauty of this restaurant is that all the hamburgers start with an H, so in the letter we can find the Historical, the Home, the Hollywood, the Havana or the Sorceress, among other specialties, like the nachos or the delicious tequeños.
The idea for the name 'The H is silent' came about after giving it a few thought: “We thought of the H for hamburger and then we put it together with a funny phrase that would stick in people's minds, because the H in hamburger is not pronounced and is literally silent”, explains Jesús.
Regarding the logo, they had it clear, “the H for hamburger contained within two brioche-type buns and thus no one will have any doubt that our star is the hamburger”.
They opened their first store at Calle Carranza, 12 in 2015 and three years later at Cea Bermúdez, 39. They had planned to open five new restaurants in 2020 as part of their expansion plan, but the pandemic caused them to open only two, one in the Salamanca neighborhood and another in Las Tablas.

“We do not like to repeat what everyone says and amplify the complaints about how difficult and sensitive 2020 has been due to the pandemic, we prefer to launch a message of hope”, says Jesús Porras.
“That is why we have launched the ‘Hope’ menu, which for a reduced price offers the same quality as our hamburgers. We have confidence in the present and hope for the future. We are constantly looking for alternatives to continue serving our clients with the same quality that has characterized us”.
The origin of the chain dates back to "one of those days in April when winter looks like summer and summer looks like winter, typical of Madrid, in which a group of friends from other lands decided to open the doors to a new concept of hamburger”.
They define themselves as "a signature hamburger restaurant with good humor". Their products and recipes are made at home, so what you receive from them "is so personal that we like to think that we are with friends serving our own clients”.
The values they represent are “the quality of the products, the excellence of the service, the friendly smile of our team and the continuous innovation”.
