Folklore

Home products designed to last

Design is at the heart of these two proposals. Ecoalf focuses on fashion and accessories yes, and Folklore in furniture and objects for life . Folklore's "Absolut Green Design" is in perfect harmony with the "Tras(h) humanity" concept launched by ECOALF.

LONDON

Folklore was an online store, until in 2011 it opened a spectacular space at 193 Upper Street, in Islington. Danielle Reid started with a simple idea: to look for objects that improve daily life in our homes, thought and built to last . She works with designers and artisans such as Soren Rose in Copenhagen, Hendzel + Hunt in London or Piet Hein Eek in the Netherlands, and they bet on simplicity, handmade and durability.

Caring for the environment is sacred, but so is the beauty of its selection of objects and interior design, which changes every month. In addition, every year they donate 15% of their profits to a different non-profit organization. This year the chosen one is ** Shanti Microfinance **, which fights against extreme poverty in various locations in India.

MADRID

Javier Goyeneche is a seasoned and charismatic businessman who has embarked on a new adventure, ECOALF. The objective was to obtain the first generation of 100% recycled and 100% recyclable fabrics s with the appearance, texture and technical properties of the best non-recycled fabrics, and use them for clothing, bags, luggage and accessories. "I firmly believe that the creation of a sustainable model begins with product design," says Goyeneche, who received the Women Together award in New York in 2011 for her project.

“ECOALF is a fashion brand based on three fundamental pillars: innovation + sustainability + quality . Where people only see garbage, ECOALF sees raw material capable of being transformed into new products of optimal quality and design. The goal is to create products that are totally respectful of the environment through new technologies and recycling,” says Goyeneche.

The interior design of the new store, located at number 116 Hortaleza street in Madrid, has been in charge of Lorenzo Castillo, who has represented the essence of the brand through sinuous forms of laminated wood in a bright white space.
