The story of Álvaro Castellanos and Iván Morales is one of those that some marketing guru would like to have invented. The two gastroentrepreneurs, today partners and friends, met thanks to someone in common. The two, then, had been thinking about the hotel adventure for some time. The two began to talk about the ideas they had in their heads about a possible business. They both wanted the same thing. And they launched. Seven years ago they embarked on the adventure of reviving the old traditional tavern , to update the bar with a commitment to traditional cuisine, that of memory. They set up Arzábal at the corner of Menéndez Pelayo and Dr. Castelo… and then the rest arrived.
Today, Menéndez Pelayo is the tavern district of Madrid, a gastronomic golden mile. And these two friends, precursors, have decided that they wanted to keep moving, looking for challenges because cooking is something alive. Because it is very good "being out of the comfort zone" , as Álvaro will say, stationed at his new bar in Arzábal Chamberí.
Arzábal disembarks in Ponzano
After opening a branch in the Reina Sofía Museum, they have launched again, this time to another gastro golden mile in the capital, the one with Calle Ponzano as its backbone. Arzábal Chamberí, open at the beginning of December, is just a few steps away from that thorn, wants to be one more stop in the #Ponzaning, but with enough distance to make a difference. Away from the hustle and bustle, they have installed a bar even larger than Menéndez Pelayo's (with capacity for 25 diners at high tables, 50 standing and 40 at low tables). They are the restaurant of the renovated NH Chamberí, but also the new neighborhood tavern for residents and visitors.
Same formula as in its other two locations, **same menu with the same star dishes (croquettes, salad, potatoes with langoustines... and their meat and fish) **, same prices. All equal. A total return to its origin and to the origin of all bars. A commitment to consistency.
Their fame precedes them

Because it is a safe bet in the atmosphere of Ponzano and a bit far from the mess that we find on this street.
