Who has not wanted to be in full contact with nature in one of the best times of the year? To do this, we head to The Valley of Pop , a valley inside the High Marina , in the Valencian Community, which stands out for its extension of almond trees.
You don't have to go far to enjoy a spring landscape
The core where everything happens is Alcalali , which in recent years has been carrying out a series of activities around the flowering of the almond tree. 'Feslalí', or the festival of 'Alcalalí in flower' , has become a meeting point for avid travelers and gastronomes and has hosted photography contests, tastings, almond tapas routes...
Feslalí has meant, not only a tourist event to value the area, but also a firm commitment to the work of farmers who work so that, year after year, the almond becomes the hallmark of the area.
before talking about The Valley of Pop today, we must go back to its past history. Located in the Marina Alta, this valley has seen generations and generations pass through its land.
The origins of the Commonwealth go back to the Prehistory , moment in which the inhabitants left their mark on an important cave site , today still visitable. We talk about Pla de Petracos Cave Sanctuary , which dates from the Neolithic and is more than 7,000 years old.

For a long time, and until their expulsion, they were the Arabs who dominated the territory and that is why the imprint of these is seen both in constructions, as in legacy and gastronomy.

It is within this infinite beauty, where the importance of the flowering of the almond trees has been highlighted. The trees that hatch almost at the same time and turn the valley into a destination where you can let yourself be pampered by nature.
To tour the flowery fields outside the festival, Turismo de Alcalalí has made available to visitors the route of the almond trees in bloom.
Through two types of paths that you can download to your smartphone and depending on their intensity and duration, we will enter the spectacular vestiges of spring along a path that includes a visit to the Hermitage of Sant Joan de Mosquera, famous for The Porrat de Sant Joan , an important fair that was held every June 24; the Medieval Tower of Alcalali and the Church of the Nativity of Our Lady.
To continue with a route through La Vall de Pop, we recommend that you visit the towns of Murla, which in the fifteenth century was the only town inhabited by Christians; benigembla and its riuraus (constructions for drying grapes), Llíber, Parcent or Xaló.
