The painter's story comes to life in an oil film
The world's first hand-painted film hits Spanish cinemas this January 12. Is named 'Loving Vincent' , tells the story of how and why Van Gogh was shot to death and is based on more than 65,000 slides made from more than 1,000 oil paintings.
We have known for months that loving vincent existed and we counted the days, the minutes and the seconds for it to arrive in Spain.
Well, our wish will come true **this Friday, January 12, when nearly 40 theaters** across the country release it on their screens (check the map to see which one is closest to you).
The art made film is already here. Literally. And it is that Loving Vincent was shot with actors, about whom then it was painted frame by frame.
"He has taken us four years to develop the technique, and more than two years to complete the film, with more than 100 painters at work in studios in the Polish cities of Gdansk and Wroclaw, in addition to another studio supporting us in Athens", they explain from the team_._
"The reason we made this film is not because we want to be first or set any kind of record: it's because we believe that You can't really tell Vincent's story without his paintings. so we had to give them life", they justify. The artist already said it: " We can't talk if it's not through our paintings ".
The result speaks for itself.
