The actress Ana Rujas, a lover of walks.

A few days ago we saw Ana Rujas triumphant at the end of Peter Sposito's parade at MBFW Madrid. Like a warrior goddess she rose, sword in hand and dressed in an immaculate white design from the Monument 20/21 collection. to remind us that fashion, too, like everyone else, is still in the fight.

And more than ever. “It was incredible –the actress confesses–, I never imagined that I would close a fashion week in my city, also with Peter, who I love what he does and he gave me the opportunity to combine performance and fashion. He had never paraded or done anything similar and I had the opportunity to do what I know, which is to act, so it was beautiful.”

These months, the Madrilenian has learned to have more patience and to value, even more so if possible, what she has. “It has become evident that if the world stops there are many people having a bad time, the pain of many affects us all, watching the news is hard. It's time to reinvent ourselves." The mask thing, she admits, is terrible, and the pandemic has prevented her from premiering her work The Ugliest Woman in the World, a text by her and Bàrbara Mestanza that she presented at Kamikaze at the end of last year, in Matadero. With autobiographical undertones, it is an intense experience for her and for the viewers, touching on themes such as consumerism, lack of authenticity, the adictions.

The actress from Madrid, in Ibiza.

"All my life I wanted to act there and when they finally call me from the Spanish Theater to do it, this happens", she laments, but the good thing is that it has only been delayed, it is scheduled for May 2021. “It will have to be reviewed because between now and then who knows what will be happening. It has even crossed my mind to think what meaning certain things in life will have now compared to before. Sometimes I tell myself What is the importance of telling this now? I am also going to make a book, it was a proposal that came to me before confinement as a result of the texts I post on Instagram. I am shaping it, very happy”.

SPORT ALWAYS HELPS

“I have been very sporty and during confinement I trained a lot again,” Ana tells us, who is now the image of the Activewear line of the Spanish firm Ônne. “I used to run and do bikram yoga. Now I don't run because of my knees, they hurt me a little, but I do train at home. It helps a lot to have a routine of at least 20 minutes a day and I do that. I also try to meditate, the body relaxes... It is good for me to play sports before I have time for myself. For me that is meditating, being with yourself, visualizing what you want, what you have to improve, etc."

"To act the same thing happens to me, I like to train before". The signature, she explains to us, had already caught her attention a long time ago. “The first thing I noticed was her swimsuit line. They were very elegant, smooth, minimal, sexy, feminine… and many different types, which I liked a lot.”

Sailing in Majorcan waters.

An inveterate traveler, Ana is now shocked by the global situation. “I am very sorry, before I would take a flight and go alone for a week in Rome or a month in New York, Right now this is impossible. The trip has totally changed, it is a brutal impact. If you stop to think about it, it's really scary. Secondly, I have been traveling around Spain and what a wonder! But it's a shame, we were in such a big global connection point... and now we don't know what's going to happen. Hopefully we can travel again, it was one of my favorite hobbies”.

In San Lorenzo de El Escorial.

Florence, Vienna, Copenhagen are his pending destinations. “Indonesia too, but right now I see it so complicated that considering it seems utopian, crazy. I would also like to meet Israel, Budapest... everything seems like a dream”.

The hotel that has never impacted her the most is the Cipriani in Venice, where she was photographed for a Condé Nast Traveler cover a few years ago. "Is incredible. I have been to Venice three times. Last year I was at the Mostra and it is a wonderful city. I got up at six in the morning the day I had to go back to Madrid because I wanted to see St. Mark's Square without the hustle and bustle. I saw the sunrise and I had a total Stendhal syndrome, I started crying... The beauty of the Basilica is impressive, one of my favorite places”.

Do you prefer to travel by plane, car, train...? "All! I like to drive although I do it fatally I like more to go as a co-pilot putting on music and livening up the journey. But if I had to choose, maybe I'd tell you to walk! Thailand impacted me, for example, but the experience that has marked me the most has been the Camino de Santiago. A month walking alone, from Asturias to Finisterre, for 26 days. It's the most impressive trip I've ever done."

His most disastrous travel anecdote was the one he made to New York. “It is such a strong city, everything was a disaster. Until you learn to take the subway you get lost millions of times. And I was very affected by how aggressive people are, until you realize that they go to their ball, at their own pace, and they also give you the battery”.
