**Condé Nast Traveler: A travel anecdote that you have not confessed until now? **

Alexa Chung: I once went on a trip 10 days in Japan with a friend and I was a self-proclaimed tour guide, which is not like me. I carried a GIANT folder of information and became my mother overnight. I still think about it.

Q: Your favorite little secret hotel?

A: I love L'Hotel. It is not very secret but it is quite small. I have never tried the pool for two but I've heard it's a lot of fun. All the rooms are wonderfully decorated and although it is a meeting point during Fashion Week also becomes a great romantic retreat.

Q: Your favorite classic hotel in the whole world?

A: Le Bristol, in Paris. It's a very opulent place to feel at home, but for me it is because I've been going there for a long time. I love the cat, the food and the fact that they lock the door , so when I get home too late, I have to knock on the glass to be let in. In addition, you can order crepes at any time you want.

**Q: A great little place away from the crowd? **

A: Madoka No Mori, in Hakone. No one will be able to find you in the natural hot springs. Head to the ground floor of the hotel to discover a tiny secret bar which took me three days to find.

Q: If you could feast on one restaurant right now, what would it be?

A: I would like a tasty brunch in Mogador, in New York: scrambled eggs with avocado, spicy carrots and hot mint tea.

**Q: The book you read that inspired you to travel or at least dream of a place...**

A: Ready Steady Go makes me want to build a time machine and live in the heart of sixties London. I am wasted in modern life.

Q: The movie that surprised you with its location?

A: I remember wanting to transport myself to Positano, Italy, where The Talented Mr. Ripley was filmed. I was drawn to the white, pink and yellow houses stacked on the cliff, the silver pebble beach, the little cafes and boutiques. I remember being envious of that way of life: boat trips with friends, sunny afternoons in the garden with glasses of red wine; The sound of the sea ; the perfect white linen tablecloths; bread, tomatoes and olive oil... I like places that have a history and a culture that make you rethink your own existence or way of life.

Q: A place you fell in love with?

A: Le Grand Banc, located in a small village in the Luberon: an excellent jukebox, beautiful art and tranquility. My boyfriend took me there in my second date and when i got to the airport i knew my heart was in trouble again.

Q: What is your trusted airline, lounge or train and why?

A: I like the Eurostar premier lounge because you can pick up great magazines and make miniature coffees. Eurostar lunch is delicious , if you gorge yourself on bread and butter, the trip flies by.

A: I haven't been to Greece much but, in my mind, in Hydra there is a fantastic store of dream sandals . Please let me know if that's true.

**Q: What song always reminds you of vacations? **

A: I dropped out of college to do a road trip across America when I was 19 and listened to the first Kings of Leon album on loop . If I listen to the first few bars of 'Molly Chambers,' I'm back in a second-hand nightgown and cowboy boots, with dyed-black hair and nothing in front of me except desert and panic about what to do with the rest of it. my life.

Q: Next destination in mind?

A: The Dunmore , on Harbor Island and La Signoria, in Calvi.

Q: The postcard that has surprised you the most?

A: My house is my favorite view when I have traveled a lot for work and I have nostalgia. That used to mean driving through the williamsburg bridge from JFK airport, seeing the lights of the city of Manhattan reflected in the water and getting excited to see my friends. Now that I've moved back to London, the Westway doesn't have the same appeal. , so I wait patiently until we get to residential streets near Canonbury that we go through to go home. If you arrive in the indicated month, you can flowers and wisteria , which I find very English and homey.
