Condé Nast Traveler celebrates the avant-garde of Colombia

A night to celebrate a new issue of Condé Nast Traveler, to prepare for FITUR and to verify something that we had already been announcing: Colombia is avant-garde and it is the destiny that you must mark in your 'list of pending trips'.

The one in charge of breaking the ice was the Ambassador of Colombia in Spain, Fernando Carrillo Florez , who was forceful in his speech: "We need to tell what we really are, not to exalt anything. In Colombia we are divided between those who continue in the past and believe in war and those who believe in peace and in reconciliation, talking about people like Juanita _(referring to Juana Acosta) _, Shakira, Juanes, Santiago Gamboa... shows that we are a different, innovative country. To those who believe otherwise... we close the page ".

COLOMBIA, MAGICAL REALISM

Fernando Carrillo is clear why Colombia lives that 'magical realism', a literary reference to reverie, to conclude that "it is a country that breathes differently; this boom in the arts and this cultural effort (with the presence of the country in FITUR, Madrid Fusion and ARCO ) demonstrated".

The President of Condé Nast Editions, Javier Pascual , did not miss the appointment to conclude that not only Colombia lives from Medellin: Barranquilla, Bogotá, the Coffee Region... and he ended up admitting that this August he will visit the country. This gave way to the protagonist of the night, ** Juana Acosta **, who thanked those present (especially her mother, Martha Lucia Restrepo ) all the support given in her career as an actress (profession to which she has been dedicating herself for 20 years): "With Traveler I was lucky enough to return to my Medellín and see her social, cultural and artistic growth" .

The person in charge of closing the presentation was Cecilia Álvarez Correa, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism of Colombia who, with a captivating speech, recalled her Colombian 'roadtrip', one that took her to travel the country by bus, more than 10,000 km "in which I was ecstatic with our country".

As the culmination of the evening, a tasting of the most avant-garde gastronomy of Colombia in the company of the cultural ambassadors of the country, such as the soccer player el 'Pibe' Valderrama (which will be at the FITUR stand in Colombia, pavilion 3, this edition).
