Imagine receiving a box at home with the best of your city . It wouldn't be bad, right? Helsinki Freedom, Home Delivered is the initiative launched by Helsinki Talent Pool and the City Council to help young people cope with confinement.

The objective of the project is to promote the careers of international tech talent and connect them with companies in the Helsinki region. Because despite being home to some of the largest and most innovative technology companies in the world, the city suffers from a shortage of professionals. The birthplace of Nokia, Rovio and Supercell is seeking 'future Finns' to join the Helsinki Talent Pool and apply for the world's first city-in-a-box home delivery.

What does the box contain? Well, the project talks about Freedoms of Helsinki , that is to say, that the box gathers everything that for the Finns means the word “freedom”. This is how they explain it on their website: “ In Helsinki freedom means being able to build a life that feels good , without commitments. It means a balanced career with a rich life outside of work. Enjoy nature and make the most of the urban lifestyle. It's about safety, access to free education, the ability to love whoever you want and make mistakes as they come up."

**They point to a total of 10 freedoms: **freedom to find balance, to feel safe, to love, to breathe, to grow and learn, to be the same, to be fragile, to speak from the heart, to act and to do trial and error.

“I often say that it makes sense to come to Helsinki: Helsinki is small enough to be a testbed for new innovations , but large enough to deliver scalable results. In the future we also want to grow in size, not only in the size of corporations, but also in the size of impact, responsibility and influence. This is why we need the best talents and innovations to make Helsinki their home,” said Jan Vapaavuori, Mayor of Helsinki.

The coveted box valued at 1,000 will therefore be delivered to 10 professionals from the technology sectors . To do this they have to request it through an online form where they add their Linkedin profile. The winners will not only receive the best of Helsinki (nature, gastronomy, well-being, etc.) but will also join the Helsinki Talent Pool, presenting themselves as candidates for opportunities in the big companies in Helsinki, which are currently looking for new profiles.

Global companies like Google, Bayer and GE Healthcare have established campuses in the region, because it is no coincidence that Finland was ranked as the seventh most innovative country in the world in 2020.
