Mozota and her Sonorous Forest

Mozota and her Sonorous Forest

We will start by saying that in girl there are two music recording studios . That Mozota is something like him winter quarters of the León Benavente group . And that some of the names that shake up the musical and cultural scene of the capital tomorrow, are from here or have ties to this town along with the Huerva River.

A breeding ground, stirred and centrifuged by the cultural paralysis that Covid-19 has caused and that ends up materializing in the firm decision to do something for the people they love. Lucky for Mozota, to have these musical agitators among her neighbors and frequent residents.

THE IDEA

During confinement, these restless minds that we mentioned came up with an idea, and as soon as possible, they went out to explore their surroundings. They found a panorama that is repeated in many places in our geography: the undergrowth that takes over riverbanks and invades places that were once recreational , hindering access to the riverbed and distancing the population from enjoying the rivers.

The first thing was build a bridge , which began as the trunk of a Fallen tree and it was perfected with materials as disparate as pallets or a disused wooden power line pole. They involved friends and neighbors, they confirm that the bassist of Leon Benavente brought his own chainsaw, others spent hours pulling nails from pallets. One got a good rope to hang a handrail.

the bridge , where people have begun to approach to take photos, is the symbol of this cultural project.

Once built, they began to clean and clear a forest of poplars, enabling a clearing where to materialize their idea: the Sonorous Forest. A open-air concert hall and a place to hold cultural workshops for all ages : a gift for Mozota.

LEON BENAVENTE

Talk about Leon Benavente is to do it from a Spanish group, emerged from the environment of the musician Nacho Vegas , who has been on stage since 2012 giving away his powerful live concerts. "The Lions", they call them . In Mozota they are known by "The musicians" , because they spend seasons there recording, rehearsing and composing, they come and go, in short. The inhabitants of Mozota regularly run into them in the streets or eating in the Charo's bar, the only one in town.

This group, which Mozota feels as his own, leads the Sonorous Forest concert series . The next September 12 will sound songs from his latest work and also from the previous albums, in the natural setting of the Mozota Sound Forest.

EVERYTHING WOULD BE DIFFERENT...

In other circumstances, the organizers would have encouraged the visitors to get to know Mozota , to stroll through the streets of this little town and discover its Mudejar church or its castle. But for the precaution of preserve the health of the mozotinos , many of advanced ages, on this occasion have decided discourage tourism and encourage visitors to focus on the Sonorous Forest experience.

The capacity of the Forest would also be higher , if the circumstances were different.

And as all collaboration is welcome, anyone who wants to contribute a grain of sand to this cultural movement in Rural Spain and cannot approach Mozota , you can contribute a zero row entry.
