The corner that mixes gastro, design and art

On more than one occasion we have heard of the gastronomy as an art form and according to the Director, this parallelism is not entirely misguided: “cuisine made with passion and knowledge is a powerful and seductive form of creative expression . It has all the potential to generate a communion between those who create and those who have the experience of enjoying that creation, a communion very similar to that between a visual artist and his public”.

“This space arose with the intention of wanting to bet on proposals that fit into that meeting point between art and other cultural expressions , especially those that are typical of our land, such as the craft and design , but always with values such as quality, tradition, avant-garde and sustainability. In those coordinates we clearly saw that the gastronomic products , such as olive oil, wine, jams…” concludes Cela.

It is nothing new that food often enters through the eyes first, so it is not surprising that the project has been very well received by the public, according to the Director, who adds: “without a doubt, the presentation influences a lot but we are convinced that those who try our products when they get home will see that the content more than justifies their purchase ”.

This is not just any Tupperware

We took the opportunity to ask Ana Cela if she believes that the 'foodie madness' in recent years she has come to stay or is temporary. The response has been emphatic as well as hopeful: “as with all fashions and trends, there are artificial and expendable elements that will pass, but appreciation of the pleasure of creating and tasting food and of all the culture that is around it is very positive that it is settling down. We are talking about a fundamental element of any culture, capable of influencing pleasure, health and value as a pole of tourist attraction, in its potential to generate development ”.

For Christmas, they will also be part of the Delicathyssen offer nougat, honey, spices or preserves . And there will also be an editorial surprise at the end of the year in which a dialogue between art and gastronomy is established, of which Ana Cela has not wanted to reveal more to us.

You know, if you want to make an artistic present with a lot of flavor, do not lose sight of this new gourmet section of the Thyssen Museum.
