The initiative begins with a survey of **7,200 people (400 Spaniards) ** from 18 different countries (Australia, Brazil, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Norway, Portugal, Russia, South Africa, Spain , Sweden, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United States ) which concludes, as far as we are concerned, that 4 out of 10 Spaniards believe that the maximum they can trace their ancestry is a country . Six out of 10 raise that number to two.
The reality is that DNA shows that our genealogical map is much more complex of what we know from the stories that have passed from generation to generation in our families. In fact, Kasia Bryc, a geneticist at 23andme, a company that maps ancestry based on DNA, argues that we have "genetic roots in at least five regions around the world".
To check this, momondo made a DNA test on 67 people . Previously, he asked them questions about their origins and about their 'phobias' of other countries.
