Alfonso XII viewpoint
The tower of the famous equestrian statue dedicated to Alfonso XII next to the pond of Retirement hides a glazed gazebo with 360º views about Madrid that you can be enjoyed from May 5, They explain in a statement from the Madrid City Council.
The visits, which will be free and with a specialized guide, will be held on Saturdays and Sundays, between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., every 30 minutes. This program of guided tours will continue until the end of October.
In total, 1,460 visits will be reserved for the viewpoint. Its small dimensions only allow a capacity of ten people.
The Bookings can be done from 12.00 on April 26 through the Heritage Reserves website.
The lookout, to which It is accessed by a staircase of more than 20 meters which runs through the interior of the tower of the monument to Alfonso XII, gives in the foreground views of El Retiro and its vegetation, to reveal the complete skyline of the city in the distance.
Both the lookout tower and the statue to Alfonso XII located in its upper part and the rest of the monumental complex have been subjected to restoration works.
