Yotel in New York, its plus is the great bed
In amsterdam , at Schiphol airport , next to a boarding gate there is another gate. It is somewhat larger and does not appear to lead to another plane. It is a hotel. It is more than an airport hotel: it is a hotel in the same airport . So airport that when leaving you can bump into someone waiting for a flight. So from the airport that it will take five minutes , timed, in arrive at your door . So close to the airport that you won't have to leave it, as you have to do to get to other hotels that claim to be from the airport but, the poor, are not at the airport. Prepositions play an important role. Are important.
MIA hotel, at Miami International Airport
We want one of these hotels. They exist in various airports around the world, more and more. There have always been hotels inside airports. Some examples are the MIA Hotel at the International Airport of Miami or the pad gatwick (with more than 200 rooms, but there are some hotels that are even closer to the boarding gates. We are talking about those. The best known chain is Yotel . In addition, there are many experiments carried out by architects and engineers that consist of heir capsules of Japanese micro-hotels.
Actually the whole idea derives from that way of using hotels in a functional way and by the hour. Yotels, unlike small pod hotels like Nap Cabs or Snooze my Space, are sold as a full-fledged hotel. The others, as places to take a nap and do not usually include a shower, are the siesthotels.
Yotel, with shower and all
We can reserve a hotel at the airport if there are several cases:
1.The flight is delayed . We are tired and with baggage. It's too late or too early. Need a few hours of sleep and a shower , those two moments that make us animals or people.
2.The flight is the first of the day . There are few things more detestable than a flight at dawn and the corresponding early riser. That is remedied (a little) with one of these hotels. I know save hours of sleep and you have something to tell, too.
3. We need a nap . As simple as that. No delays. Our connection allows us (we took a cheap flight that forced us to spend 7 hours in Gatwick) and we used them to sleep. The absence or presence of siesta can also turn us into people or animals. A time in the Snooze my Space from the airport Delhi cost ten euros . Even if it is to charge the mobile it is profitable.
4. We need a shower and a change of clothes . We do not have access to any VIP room. A terminal hotel allows us benefits of a first class passenger without having to pay for a first class ticket.
One hour in the Nap Cabs or Snooce my Space
Very well. One of these cases occurs. Or several at once. We need one of these hotels. We chose a Yotel. exist in London (Heathrow-Gatwick) , amsterdam (Schiphol) and there is one in the center of New York , which confirms that it is not a capsule, but a hotel. At the Yotel there is a small reception, but let's not expect a full-fledged check-in. The machines will tell us everything we need . Let's not be scared: it's small. But let's look carefully.
The bed is folded and opens with a touch. Is a big bed , much better than others in which we have slept in hotels that appear in magazines like this one. The same goes for the bathroom. Nothing to object: it is big, new, with a powerful shower and it will cost us from 60 euros per hour / people . And can the mobile be charged? Of course? And free wifi? Of course.
We are hungry? We can buy some noodles. Or better take advantage of the coffee and tea and those that they offer us for free. Then, why don't we spend the holidays in this hotel?
We chose a Yotel, for its great bed
Because we still want to spend them in another that is a few meters away. In the same Schiphol Next to the wonderful KLM Lounge, there is another hotel, the Mercure Schiphol Terminal. This is not an avant-garde hotel like the Yotel. It has reception with receptionists, conventional hotel shape and corridors, 33 rooms and 3 stars . It is a gentleman hotel that, coincidentally, is in the heart of the airport, a few meters from the boarding gate. There must be enormous pleasure and triumph over the other passengers in getting on the plane having showered only ten minutes before.
