Good waves and better table
Cantabria is historically recognized as pioneer in riding waves in our lands thanks to families like the Fiochi, Beraza or Merodio . We have a lot to talk about surfing in la tierruca and what better place to talk than around a table.
FIRST STOP: SAN VICENTE DE LA BARQUERA
We proceed west on our way to San Vicente de la Barquera in search of a sheltered surf break in Farol, some solid lefts await us at the bottom of the beach in black stones, if the sea demands it. What we do know is that high tide leaves us with the option of a second dip in Oyambre heading for Comillas with the wind more from the west.
SECOND STOP: QUOTES
The waves have been good at the Yellow Bird (a place with an impressive adventure story brought to the big screen in a highly recommended documentary produced by Anthony Resines ) .
We want to end the day in style and for this reason we thought of a nice tribute in cofino (attention to its meatballs), located in the town of Caviedes where its large winery will do the rest.

When we leave, totally exhausted, we appreciate the bay and go to recharge our batteries at Rancho Chico, the surfer Tino Aja, to fall asleep at the Hotel Azul, where **the first national surfing gala** will be held this month and where food and surfing will once again be the protagonists.

FOURTH STOP: LIENCRES
It's time to find another bathroom with the force of the sea in free fall , like our energies, heading east. FIFTH STOP: SANTANDER

SIXTH STOP: SOMO
We are back in the surf reserve, in Somo , to sign up for an activity at the Surf Center, have a pincho at their cafeteria with views of Santa Marina and if we are learning we will have to let ourselves be advised by the Cantabrian School that has more than 25 years of experience.
How about a little skate in the park? We continue the route through Ajo, Noja, Galizano, Latas, Berria, Santoña and we end up in Laredo.
SEVENTH STOP: LAREDO
We are already in Laredo, a place as trendy as it is full of history. We know summer well, now we will talk about winter with **dream waves and already referent events such as La Invernal **. We will have everything that a lover of these guides can crave. We recommend the Hotel El Ancla , lunch at La Muralla II , dinner at El Plaza with Fonso and **for breakfast pincho de tortilla dos jamones en el Boquerón **.

If you are going to surf you can get information at the Escuela de Pinos or at Dani Pablos. Although from my point of view the most important thing will be to a tasting of anchovies after a good surfing and there I recommend La Laredana, Rezumar and Codesa.
After this intense path through the tierruca we entered Castro Urdiales, seeing Bilbao in the background. It seems that something good is coming, very good. The north is good waves and infinite dishes of a high level.
