Poetry takes to the streets of the 15 Spanish World Heritage Cities

Reading Cáceres looks like this

The installation consists of 15 triangular prisms that will serve as a canvas for the words or verses written by a local poet . In each city, the author of the chosen lyrics will be different, always looking for capture the essence of that destination to reflect its identity , explain the organizers of the initiative. They appear between the chosen names like the one of Santos Domínguez, David Hernández Sevillano, Joaquín Sabina, Ester Bueno Palacios, María de Cebreiro or Rayden.

The transfer of the pieces from city to city will not mean a break, but rather the words represented in each place will form the lines of a new poem which will grow in each destination until it is completed in October 2017, when it arrives in Ibiza.

Creation process in Cáceres

We will be able to read the cities, but we will have to play with the letters to achieve it. Boa Mistura uses in this installation the technique of anamorphism that plays with deformation and perspectives . In order to achieve an overview that allows the representation to be read, the viewer must move between and around the prisms. Thus, the pieces will be located in squares or spaces large enough to be able to create the geometric and color game.

The prisms, which measure 2.45 meters and weigh 45 kilos, they will stay approximately one week in each city : from Monday to Thursday they will be painted. They will remain on display until Sunday night. Below, you can see the detailed schedule of the interventions that will be carried out in three phases:
