Water is the root that gives life to the new destination hotel in Mallorca, a sustainable accommodation of 5 stars, 25 rooms and 2.6 million square meters of land that are included under the name of LJs Ratxó. The old ratxó that channels the Water coming from the mountains, it flows into the depths of the valley generating life and becoming the guiding thread of the project, installed in a ecological park specialized in the recovery of Native species of flora and fauna such as goats, peacocks, a great variety of birds and raptors, and olive trees.

A sustainable luxury , an almost mandatory definition due to the environment in which it is located and that is achieved by rational use of water, individual control of air conditioners, LED lighting, elimination of plastics single-use coffee, digitization of printed materials, coffee beans instead of capsules, cups made from coffee grounds, a team that is 70% resident on the island, and a gastronomy that focuses on local products . A first stone that will lay the foundations for actions such as the forest cleaning, the recovery of the flora, use of electric vehicles and systems that will supply renewable energy.

Take a look

Decoration and interior design: To be a destination in itself, this retreat has decided that making you feel in an authentic Majorcan home was going to be its differentiating point. And he has achieved it together with the interior designer Blanca Rosselló , keeping much of the decor original but weaving everything into the same theme in which typical elements of the island appear, such as the water cloth, the handmade clay containers, the blown glass and the making of lamps and other decorative details with olive wood extracted from the estate itself and worked by a team of six cabinetmakers.

“All the buildings in the complex are covered with exposed stone, in the style of the typical constructions of Mallorca. In addition, a very old part of an oil mill remains, which belonged to the original estate and dates back to 1675”, he explains. Edward Salazar , Operations Manager of LJs Group.

Bedrooms: Among the 25 rooms and suites you will not find any equal, yes, they are all decorated with boho-chic details and with **antique pieces **in neutral and Mediterranean tones in which the wood makes an appearance. The beds are King or Queen size and all hide your deepest dreams under a canopy. And this is where the real luxury comes in: they all have their own terrace or garden with views of the mountains. By the way, the old water channel that gives the establishment its name runs under the Owners Suit and is visible thanks to the glass that covers it.

Amenities: The soaps, creams and shampoos are of the Majorcan brand Tot Herba , which makes its products with natural ingredients; while the others are from the brand Sun Amenities , which uses biodegradable materials.

Breakfast: A la carte and at your disposal throughout the day, with fresh and light dishes that are not opposed to healthy feasts, such as the bowl of quinoa or organic yogurt; as well as the salmon and avocado toast. Is there gluttonous gluttony? well there is also ensaimada . Lazy to go down to the restaurant? Order breakfast in your room: a forgotten luxury that more and more hotels are beginning to recover.

Eat and drink: The options are two and very good. "The first is roots , which among other details stands out for having an impressive window that reveals the stone of the mountain and shows how it is built next to it; Y Arratxa , which stands out for a more casual style and has spectacular views of the mountains", explains Salazar. "Both stand out for the quality and freshness of the products they use, which is always local, or even in some cases from our own garden" and both also opt for a Mediterranean cuisine based on the traditional cookbook Mallorcan but with touches of innovation . Ramallet tomato cream, roasted vegetable tumbet, green sticky rice or turbot are the plan at Roots and if you want to make the roundest plan, as soon as possible, grab the chef's table.

To drink, they have their bar Geneva , currently under development but will be the place to try the house's next adventure: its own gin made with juniper from the farm itself. Until that moment arrives, you have to ask for your cocktail Pure LJ's , prepared with typical Mallorcan herbs; and the craft beer that is made in a Majorcan factory.

A garden, a treasure: Right now the hotel has its own garden, where they plant tomatoes, lettuce and aromatic herbs such as rosemary, mint, basil and thyme, which are used to flavor many of their specialties. They also have lemon and orange trees that give life to juices and flavored drinks. Do you see the olive trees that surround the farm? They are the ones who give life to olive oil of the house

Climatized pool

The time of the mime: In the hotel spa they have a climatized pool , sauna, hammam, footbath and showers. In addition, they have two cabins in which absolutely personalized treatments are offered, both in terms of time and type: facial or body; massages and more exclusive experiences such as thai reflexology , Indian, Oriental and Balinese therapies. Point in favor for you because you can enjoy them in the cabins or in the pergolas of the garden or the pool. Wherever it is, sign up for the treatment Sweet Mallorquin , a body scrub made with Es Trenc salt, the hotel's olive oil, lavender and orange or lemon from the orchard.
