In 2010 this fishing village with cobbled streets and very 'village' houses with sea views received the Prince of Asturias for the 'Exemplary Town of Asturias'. Just a year before, they had started shooting here Doctor Mateo, the story of a rural doctor assigned to a fictitious **San Martín del Sella (Lastres)**. Since then, many people have decided to visit this town with countless places to visit: the San Roque viewpoint, in the upper part, the beaches of La Griega, La Isla and Sierra del Sueve , the Church of Santa María de Sábada, the neighborhood of Los Balleneros, the clock tower... There is a route that runs through the main scenes of the famous doctor: his residence, in the Atalaya, the village tavern, the teacher's house, near the tower and this part of the Cantabrian coast, among others.

The Chiringuito de Pepe is today one of the places that most tourists who visit this Valencian municipality, located in the northern part of Castellón, ask about. The answer given to them can be a bit disappointing, because the restaurant that everyone talks about is made of papier-mâché, it only exists on the small screen. These baywatches spent seemingly endless summers saving lives in Santa Monica Beach and Venice Beach and the episodes filmed there have made the area one of the most visited in The Angels . To walk around there is to realize how much was real –also what was fictitious– about this production_ outdoor weight training areas, lots of people skating, basketball courts, volleyball courts, shops of all kinds, bars and restaurants and , of course, the iconic dugouts where David Hasselhoff and his team waited.

BLUE SUMMER: THE NERJA OF THE 80S AND THAT GANG THAT WE ALL WANTED TO HAVE
It means naming the series directed by Antonio Mercero and inevitably starting to hum the song with which the up to 20 episodes of Verano Azul began, an RTVE production that showed Nerja to the world and made us fall head over heels in love with this town and the innocence of its characters. For a few months every Sunday we turned on the television full of hope to see what today had in store for Tito, Bea, Quique, Piranha, Chanquete, Julia, Javi, Desi and Pancho . The truth is that from those years there remain the tributes that the City Council has dedicated to fiction: a park with a replica of the sailor's ship, some urbanization with the same name, the Antonio Mercero promenade and the Ayo beach bar, still up and running. Little remains of the tranquility and peace that the municipality transmitted, since we are in what is one of the most touristic destinations in the province of Malaga.
