Wellness travel is a growing trend.
The future of a wellness getaway passes through stay in your own residence within an avant-garde complex, in a dream setting. This is the idea defended at SHA Wellness Clinic, the international reference center located in L'Albir (Alicante), which was forced to close its doors due to the pandemic on March 17 and reopens next July 22 with some news.
“This summer, as we know, is especially atypical. Our reserves, traditionally mostly international, now come exclusively from Spain and other European countries, and they are more last minute than usual, due to uncertainty about international mobility. Although we are receiving many requests from the United States and Arab countries”, they explain when asked about the challenges they face.

People are eager to resume their vacation plans, and will do so as they feel safe. The tourism sector must be agile in readjustment to gain trust of the luxury traveler in this new scenario".

"It is important that this readjustment is not detrimental to the experience. We will not leave comfortable home to travel to a facility with closed or limited facilities. Measures can and should be aimed at reinforcing exclusivity and sustainability”, he adds.
Everything points to wellness tourism, which is already growing twice as fast as traditional tourism, will become even more pronounced. “People are now more aware than ever of the importance of their health and luxury consumers will be even more demanding in terms of the reason for their trip and their expectations. It will also increase the need for super customization of the trip, and the role of the tailor-made travel agent will be reinforced”, they maintain.
ONE DAY, AT A PREVENTIVE MEDICINE CENTER
What changes are we going to find after these months? To get started, a private VIP transfer, sanitized with ozone from the airport and train stations regional (Alicante/Valencia), as well as a VIP transfer for national routes (Madrid/Barcelona). Wellness centers adapt their protocols after the pandemic.
Among the new regulations to prevent the transmission of the virus, upon arrival, guests will undergo a medical examination, which, from now on, will include an antibody test (IgM/IgG) in order to assess immunity against the virus. Those who consider it necessary for any reason, may perform a Covid Test (PCR) before their arrival.
All staff must carry out tests prior to reincorporation and continuous monitoring will be carried out on both guests and workers, with permanent health care; will be used thermal imaging cameras for temperature detection and there will be available to each guest a sanitary kit with a mask, disinfectant gel and gloves, as well as gel dispensers in common areas. Will be The use of a mask by the therapists in the treatment cabins is mandatory, which will be disinfected between the different sessions with UV light towers and sterilized with organic products.
Both the air and surfaces and elements have been disinfected in common areas, suites, elevators... and Disinfection will be carried out continuously, also from possible sources of contagion such as remote controls, telephones, etc. The thorough cleaning protocol has been reinforced and sanitary disinfection products designed for the disinfection of operating rooms will be used.
