Free Spirit suite detail
It took four years of work, between 2011 and 2015, and an investment of more than 3.5 million euros for this 1951 crane, formerly called Crane 13, to become the hotel everyone is talking about in Amsterdam. Three themed suites, a television studio, a lounge with panoramic views and a rooftop Jacuzzi, no less than 50 meters above the ground , shape the experience of staying at the Crane Hotel Faralda, they explain from the establishment.
One more in the Amsterdam skyline
The Mystique, Secret and Free Spirit are the names of some suites that measure between 36 and 40 square meters each, distributed on two floors, are located between 30 and 50 meters high inside the crane and every day they offer different views of the city. And it is that the crane is equipped with a mechanism that allows it to rotate very slowly on its axis when the wind blows.
Secret Suite
Sleeping in one of them can cost from 300 to 400 euros. Do you have 25,000 euros? Then you can also rent the entire crane to organize a party or event. With a capacity for 71 people, exclusivity is guaranteed and privacy, one of its hallmarks, too. The Crane Hotel Faralda has only one entrance and there is no way through it without a special key and permit. Once inside, the elevator leads directly to the suites. Everyone can see the crane, but few know what goes on inside. You know, "what happens at the Crane..."
Any other jacuzzi will know you little
To give you an idea of the complexity of the restoration work , you can see these videos of how Crane 13 was dismantled and how it was reassembled, now converted into the Crane Hotel Faralda.
