IN BED: Lightning , Miqui Otero (Ed. Blackie Books). Fidel Centella is a young man from Barcelona who suffers from topography agnosia. He is always lost. Literally (perhaps figuratively too?). The orderly streets of Barcelona's Eixample, where he lives with his parents, are the perfect setting to become disoriented: everything seems the same to him, no corner helps him get back on track. Luckily there are his friends, the "Rays" , that laugh after laugh, cry after cry, will help you return to the right place, like beams of light that show you the way. Two stories are intertwined in this book: that of his son, a young man from Barcelona at the time of transition (the one in which he finally manages to go home... by mistake, leaving the house leaving the keys inside him ); that of the parents' past (who, at the same age as his son, had to leave that village in Galicia to seek a future in Barcelona). A delight, Mike. a delight

** BETWEEN FRAMES: The poetics of freedom **, ** Ai Weiwei (Cathedral of Santa María and San Julián, Cuenca) **. What do they have in common Cervantes Y ai weiwei ? Imprisonment, spending long days in a cell. The Pekingese artist has decided to intervene in the cloister of the cathedral of Cuenca in a project framed in the fourth centenary of the death of Cervantes to denounce the hostilities of the Chinese authorities before those who dare to denounce (artistically) what is happening in the country and give voice who do not communicate with the government. Ai Weiwei relives her confinement (for 81 days perpetrated by the Chinese government) in the cloister of this cathedral; an isolation that the Spanish writer also experienced years before during his confinement (for five years) in Algiers. In addition, two other naves of the temple serve as exhibition space (a tribute to the Informalists who turned Cuenca into the Spanish capital of contemporary art -Rafael Canogar, Martín Chirino, Francisco Farrera, Luis Feito, Florencio Galindo and Juan Barte- and the drawings of Florencio Galindo). You can enjoy them until November 6.

ON THE BIG SCREEN : _ Late for anger. _ Raúl Arévalo is a lover of sawdust and toothpick bars, of the usual places that dot the city of Madrid, endowing it with that character between traditional and endearing and unique and that... little by little they are closing their doors. An ode to the usual bar that is presented as a palimpsest in a film in which the tension, violence and revenge they are always present. Bravo, bravísimo, for this new director.

ON THE BIG SCREEN X2: It is the weekend of Spanish cinema. today it opens Guernica , a film about the drama of the Civil War, just on the 79th anniversary of the Nazi attack on Spanish territory. Beyond "another film about the Civil War" Gernika is a reflection on the search for the truth in a socio-political moment full of interests, lies, rumors and bombs. A foreign journalist and a Spanish editor will try to survive (and remove the ins and outs of the information) in a bleak landscape.

ON THE RADIO : Skeleton Tree, Nick Cave . Nick left us devastated with his Push the Sky Away . Three years later, he finishes us off, he leaves us desolate, self-absorbed, broken but thoughtful. After the death of his 15-year-old son, Cave returns with an intimate album , a purging and purging exercise. "He will make the saddest album in the world," his fans said on social media. He hasn't made the saddest record. He has done the hardest revitalizing exercise of all: he has opened up his channel through music.

AT THE BAR: Tupperware (26 Corredera Baja Street, Madrid). This week we pay homage to Malasaña, its infinite night and its convoluted streets (don't they all seem the same at certain hours of the morning?) and those "mythical characters" of the neighborhood who, wherever they are, will always be Malasaña (thanks, Sonia).

ON THE SHELF: Books for a better world. Following in the footsteps of Malasañera, today we highlight a coquettish, wonderful bookstore, full of details that make a simple one-minute parade impossible (and if you are a cat lover, get ready). Beyond cat entanglements, the remarkable thing about this corner is its vocation: the name of the bookstore is not trivial; donations from avid readers are their base and their goal is to donate books to educational centers. Stand up. Enters. Read. Aid.
