1. THE NEIGHBORHOOD OF LE SUQUET
The historic center of the town is the origin of the old fishing village which began its journey as a tourist destination in the 19th century at the hands of Lord Brougham. Its inhabitants make life in its little streets, alleys and restaurants boxed in between its stairs, away from La Croissette (the riverbank where the exhibition hall, the luxury shops and the big hotels are located).
From the top of the promontory, next to the church of Notre Damme de l'Esperance, you can see the bay, the old port, La Croissete and the islets of Lerins . It is worth taking a look at the Musée de la Castre, with the exotic collection donated by Ginoux de La Car , 19th century traveler inside the castle. Like in a museum dreamed by Tintin you can browse among pieces from Oceania, pre-Columbian America and the East.

two. THE SOCCA
It's kind of chickpea flour and olive oil crepe , which is made in a wood oven. Black pepper is added and eaten by hand and it costs around €1.50. The best place to try it is the Marché Forville , the market where, from Tuesday to Sunday (7 a.m. to 1 p.m.), products from the area are sold: cheeses, breads, vegetables, flowers and fresh fish... In the same place , on Monday an antiques market is organized.

3. THE HOTEL PARTIES 3.14
It is not the Martinez or the Carlton , the Festival's hotels par excellence, but the most alternative soirées and the best pool parties are held on its rooftop . Its aesthetic has nothing to do with that of these hotels either, much more casual and colorful and with a certain kitsch touch. Its name 3.14 refers to the diameter of the earth's circumference and each of its floors -five- are decorated with the theme of a continent. To make it more fun, has a promotion: if you stay five nights you can change your room every day and so on… Go around the world . Sustainable, ecofriendly and very aware of the zero kilometer philosophy. At breakfast you should not miss their chocolate cream, with milk and dark chocolate.

Four. THE GOOD WEATHER
It is hardly ever cold in the city, the average temperature of the year is around 15th and little rainfall. very close, the town of Menton , is, in fact, the French town with the best climate in the country.

5. THE ISLAND OF S. HONORAT
It is a small island that is crossed by a ferry from Gare Maritime (Allées de la Liberté) approximately every hour. It is the only island in France where a religious community lives , who cultivate the vineyard, olive trees and make a liquor. Part of a natural park is protected, there are no hotels and camping is not allowed . You can only sleep in the guesthouse of the community itself if you want to participate in the daily life of the Abbey of Notre Dame de Lérins. Its regulation is very strict: You can not ride a bike, or take dogs without a leash, nor, of course, smoke . Together with St. Honorat, the island of Santa Margaret forms the Lérins archipelago, with good beaches and idyllic woods for walks.

6. THE ARTISAN CHEESES OF CENERI
The cheeses range from camembert to calvados, fresh cheese with basil or brie with truffles; the macarons (of foi gras, pan d'epices, baba au rhum), **the artisan nocilla and the natural jellies of Jean Luc ** Pele ; and **the Belle Iloise preserves**, (taponade, sardines, parmesan tuna rillettes or onion confit, all presented in a packaging, of cans and boxes with colorful vintage-style designs, which sorry to open) .

7. THE MASSIF OF L´ESTÉREL
20 minutes drive west of Cannes. Reddish volcanic mountains, with more than 2,000 meters , with caves, contrast with the intense blues of its coves and beaches.

8. THE CHOCOLATE OF JÉROME DE OLIVEIRA
This pipiolo who does not reach thirty years has been elected the best chocolatier in the world. In his store amaze with the variety of creations , as spectacular to look at as they are to taste: reinterpreted tarte tatin, in the shape of a Mexican taco, designer chocolate bars, marshmallows of all flavors.
