With this disconcerting minibar, the hotel launches several messages:

- The first and most obvious is: “I am different”. The Thief is, to begin with, because it is linked to the Astrup Fearnley Museum and they share pieces from their Contemporary Art collection. This, and entering the museum with the hotel key, is not common. It is also not like any other hotel in the Norwegian capital because it is the most avant-garde in form and spirit. With a lot of difference. But when placing a bar cabinet like this, under the coffee maker and in a simple drawer, the positioning skyrockets. This minibar hides all the ideology of the hotel.

- "You, who sleep here, are different." People who sleep in the rooms of The Thief (they are so Norwegianly comfortable) are not surprised by this minibar. Or they wonder but play worldly, as if all the hotels they visit hide folded shirts for sale. The guests of this hotel recognize themselves in this selection and feel affirmed. And a confirmed customer is happy. And if he walks on Norwegian wood, he is a very happy customer.

- "I am retailer. And I take it to the extreme.” It's no use having a minibar that sells toothpaste: this has to be Marvis. Having Colgate would be a short circuit. And so with all products. It is about looking for “friendly” brands that expand The Thief universe. A hotel that takes care of the minibar takes care of cleanliness, that the shower water does not escape , that the temperature is perfect, that the breakfast is contained and of quality (and includes Norwegian brown cheese), that there are many more pillows than necessary (ten to be precise) and so on ad infinitum. The minibar is the end of a road. Chance doesn't exist within the walls of a hotel room and it's great that it does.
