The Hollywood Walk of Fame is a must-see for anyone visiting Los Angeles
The story tells that the The idea of creating the Hollywood Walk of Fame arose in 1953. when, then-president of the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce, E.M. Stuart, in an attempt to pay tribute to those who were concerned with "maintaining the glory of a community whose name evokes glamor in every corner of the world," proposed the creation of this emblematic boulevard (perhaps inspired by the stars that circumscribed the names of great artists that adorned the ceiling of the dining room of the Hollywood Hotel?).
Since then, not without a little controversy regarding the choice of honorees, the project has been moving forward. There is currently a committee divided into five categories (film, television, music, radio and theater) that is in charge of deciding which artists will have a star with their name written in metallic letters on the ground of Los Angeles.
There are more than 2,000 stars distributed along the two sidewalks that run along the stretch of Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street , therefore, if what you want is to take a photo with someone in particular, it is advisable to use the 'star finder'. And who knows? you might be lucky and the star award ceremony is taking place, they are open to the public.
