The waffle made ice cream or the ice cream made waffle
What was born as an idea for the 2015 Msc in Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Management Awards has ended up becoming a successful business. “After finishing second, it became clear to me and my team that setting up our own company was a good idea” , explains Tony, the creator of Bubblewrap, to Traveler.es.
The adventure began in September 2015. Many hours of work later, with changes to the logo, website, concept and strategy involved, everything began to roll. “We applied to 30 or 50 different markets until we found the Berwick Street Market, where we were working every weekend. Then we found a store of the right size and affordable price on Wardour Street in Chinatown.” . That, friend, is even the place you will pilgrimage on your next visit.

There were also many recipe tests until the current one was found. “We decided to mix waffles and ice cream because we wanted to give our customers a variety of textures and flavors and make the experience unique and even more delicious. Also, we thought it would be great uniting the European specialty of ice cream with the regional Chinese specialty: Hong Kong egg waffles”.
The different flavors came later. You can choose, for example, between dark chocolate, nuts and caramel; the one with strawberry cheesecake, oreo and salted caramel; or the one with matcha tea, kit kat and salted caramel. However, the Bubblewrap waffles already have their star. "One of our customers' favorite combinations is the original waffle base with vanilla, strawberries and Nutella" says Tony.
The price of the Bubblewrap varies depending on the choice and They range from £5.99 (around 7 euros), if you order it without ice cream, to £6.99 (around 8 euros), if it is with ice cream.
