Nature is wild, unexpected, too often sad, but it also has its comic side and the Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards wanted to make the most of it. The need to provide an optimistic and cheerful vision of animals has led the photographers, Tom Sullam and Paul Joynson-Hicks , to create these awards that have been held since 2015 and that show that the best place to animals it is its own habitat.
"This year has been a real success, the quality of the images has improved substantially. have participated 86 countries in total and with a much higher level of Photography". That is why it has been difficult to choose between 3,500 images . "One of my favorites is the fox urinating on a golf hole, I know there are many people who feel the same way about golf!", says Paul, one of the founders of the awards.
“None of us is perfect, we all at some point will fly somewhere, drive somewhere, cook something, burn something and probably contribute to the global warming of the planet. Indirectly, we will also have some impact on animals who share this planet with us.”
But that doesn't mean you have to sit idly by , which is why these awards go beyond photography and contribute to conservation collaborating with the Born Free project, international charity of wild life , founded in 1984 by the actors Bill Travers and Virginia McKenna , known for the movie Born Free.

Tibor Kercz has won the best photography award of 2017 for his brilliant series of photos of an owl losing its balance on a branch and desperately trying to get back to join the rest of his friends.

CATEGORY 'UNDER THE SEA'
Troy Mayne won the 'Under The Sea' category for its hilarious image of a fish being hit by the fin of a sea turtle.
Gases in the air.
CATEGORY 'IN THE AIR'
John Threlfall has received the 'In The Air' award for his photograph of four birds flying through the sky. One of them seems to be subtly letting out a stream of clouds.
