“I am delighted to have won the Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards 2019. I am glad that this image is spreading laughter and happiness around the world. Furthermore, I am very happy to be able to tell you that this pup continues to grow in her pack because I saw her again this October,” Skinner explains in statements collected in the press release issued by the contest.
“I hope and encourage everyone to do what we have to do to conserve wild species so that future generations can enjoy them in the same way that I have during my career as a nature photographer”, she reflects.
Founded by photographers Paul Joynson-Hicks and Tom Sullan, the Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards is a world photo contest with which you want to raise awareness about the importance of preserve wildlife and, with a positive message, get society to commit.
This edition has had 4,000 participants from 68 different countries. Sarah Skinner's work was selected through a popular online vote among the 40 finalist photographs .
Skinner has donated the safari week in Masai Mara (Kenya) which is part of a prize that also includes a handmade trophy from Wonder Workshop (Tanzania), a photographer bag from THINK TANK and an iPad.
