The second life of these cinemas is a metaphor for what is happening with art today: we have gone from two-dimensional film to 360º art . Y from October 31 to December 8, 2019 , Monet (you can get tickets at this link) will get into our eyes and our body, thanks to technology. In Monet, the immersive experience , the state-of-the-art technologies they give life beyond the frame to the work of the Giverny artist.
Monet tried to capture the spontaneity of life on canvas. Now, those moments that were so important in his life will embrace us in large format and high definition projections ( with 360º projections on a 1000 m2 screen ) .

WHAT WILL WE FIND IN 'MONET, THE IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE'
The IDEAL space has a dome, a permanent 'dome', where the 360º projection is carried out. In addition, it also presents a technological creative laboratory, the virtual reality area, the cafeteria and the office part.
In this kind of 'planetary' , the music, the colors, the images of Monet's paintings, will invade us surrounding us, embracing the viewer.

The entire experience lasts 50 minutes. Admission for adults costs €14.50; Entry for minors (from 3 to 12 years old) and people over 65 years old is €9. If you go as a family, you can opt for the Family Pack of 4 people (two adults and two minors), €36, or the Family Pack of 3 (1 adult and two minors), €27.

Ideal was born as a 2,000-seat cinema back in 1917 in the heart of Poblenou. It was even converted into a television set. And now, it revives becoming a meeting point between technology and science. IDEAL Center d'Arts Digitals was born as a joint project (five years of work) by Layers of Reality, Minoria Absoluta and Magma Cultura, with the collaboration of MIRA Festival, Exhibition Hub, OFFF and Loop Bcn.
The premiere of the impressionistic immersive experience is just the beginning. The idea is to create a program of digital arts, music and also specialized information (as stated in the official press release of the space). " IDEAL is a pioneer center of the new cultural paradigm where he digital art is the protagonist, and that has the objective of encourage local creation and export it to other reference centers and museums".
This new space for digital creation and conversation will function as a hub of ideas and a cultural accelerator for the city of Barcelona. In addition, there will be a space for the recovery of historical memory with the screening of the documentary Fiction and memory.
