The junior room of the Yelmo cinemas in Islazul (Madrid) was the first of its kind in Europe.
In a technological world, in which a child can have at their fingertips any type of children's audiovisual content; where the special effects hardly cause surprise (although the fault lies with the small, very small screen) and the premiere of animated films is no longer experienced with the sentimental fervor of yesteryear, movie theaters have to look for alternative and grandiloquent ways with which to once again attract the large family audience, the one who enjoys and shares his leisure time in front of the big screen.
Many have tried 3D and others have even celebrated birthdays at their facilities, however the most innovative and attractive today are the junior movie theaters, spaces where the seats and the big screen are complemented by slides and fun games.
Adapted to the needs and tastes of the smallest of the house, in them parents can also relax and not worry about those inquisitive looks that they suffered in traditional rooms due to the restlessness and movement of their children when the light went out.
We have found them in the United States, Mexico, Asia and even in Australia, but also in Spain, where ** Yelmo Cines has scattered them throughout the national territory ** and ** Neocine de Murcia ** has given it the name of kids room.
In the junior rooms of Yelmo Cines some seats have been replaced by cushions, poufs and deckchairs.
HELM CINEMAS
This entertainment chain has just inaugurated its ninth Junior Cinema in our country, specifically in Yelmo Cines Torrecárdenas (Almería), thus joining the other eight existing ones: Yelmo Cines Premium Alisios (Las Palmas), Yelmo Cines Boulevard (Álava), Yelmo Cines Itaroa (Navarra), Yelmo Cines Premium Puerta Europa (Cádiz) and, in Madrid, Yelmo Plaza Norte 2, Yelmo Cines Planetocio, Yelmo Cines TresAguas and Yelmo Cines Islazul (which was the first of its kind to arrive in Europe).
These spaces –dedicated exclusively to children from 0 to 13 years old– have springs to jump and a huge slide that runs along the side of the rooms ready to be used 15 minutes before the film starts and in the middle of the projection, so that the little ones can rest and return to the viewing with renewed attention and interest.
In addition, in the Junior Rooms the traditional armchairs have been replaced by single or double loungers, cushions and puffs, so that the time the children spend watching the film is as different and comfortable as possible. Prices vary depending on the chosen cinema, but to give you an idea, a double cushion costs €16.40 in the Canary Islands and €19.80 in Madrid.
Children's films and games are intertwined in the Junior Rooms of Yelmo Cines.
There are only a few 'strict' rules to comply with, as Yelmo Cines reminds us: " You can't come to the Junior Room angry, nor can you enter with a head full of problems, you come to the Junior Room to enjoy the best films, to play games and enjoy the family cinema experience".
oh! And in the Junior Room – where only adults accompanied by minors can enter – you have to follow the gory Pet Orders, who will tell the children how to proceed at all times.

NEOCINE MURCIA
Inaugurated on November 16 last year, the ** Kids Room at Neocine Thader ** has sofas for families and diver kids seats in many colors. In this case, in addition to a large slide and a playground, the fun space is equipped with a climbing area adapted to the age of access (under 12 years).
"Our balance is very positive, the room has had a great acceptance among the public. Especially the family assures Rocio Freixinos, manager of Neocine, who also reminds us that this chain of cinematographic exhibition complexes has always liked "to be at the forefront in terms of technology and seat comfort."
Only those over three years old (or over 90 cm tall) will be able to use the slide in the Kids Room.
The operation of the room is similar to that of the other cinemas: after the opening of the room there will be a period of game time of between ten and 15 minutes, then the film will begin, in the middle of the tape there will be a break of another ten or 15 minutes in which the games will resume, to finally continue with the viewing until the credits appear.
Open throughout the year, the Kids Room maintains the same price as in the other rooms for individual seats (€5) and, for its part, triple sofas will cost €15.00 and double sofas €10.
Now all that remains is to buy the tickets (on these dates the ideal is to go see The Grinch, Mary Poppins Returns, Ralph Breaks the Internet or Bumblebee) and let the children enjoy the cinema as what they are: children!
