We have discovered it. Don't say we didn't warn you about the new sensation in the British capital. Okay, not that you're going to take a bite out of a planet from another galaxy, but seeing and trying Magna's donuts, you will live a sensation of another world.
Eat a little greased planet
Magna has just opened on one of the coolest streets in London, Brick Lane . Trend seekers from all over the world head there to walk the street that has been setting the pace of the city for years.
At least that is what is shown by the hundreds of people who visit it daily and every Sunday, when its market of street food goes out into the street. And it is there, in the london east end , where a group of gastronomy promises have decided to set up their own donut shop out of this World.
Carlos, Andreas and Claudio they worked together in a restaurant, until the day came when they decided that the time had come to work for themselves.
And that was how, after several years with the idea, and at the moment when they took over an entire building on the street that was previously occupied by an Indian restaurant, They took the step and opened Magna, right next to one of the main streets of the routes of _street art l_ondinense .
To blend in with the neighbourhood, they have had Fanakapan , a renowned English artist, who has adorned his façade with an impressive anamorphic astronaut and crystal stars , very much in line with what they do there and the rest of the street.
The interior of Magna is packed to the outer space . Small figures of astronauts are scattered throughout the premises, the floor of the stairs is lunar... This is accompanied by samples of graffiti, heads of starwars Y tags with allusions to donut world.
And how did the idea of setting up Magna come about? “Four years ago we started thinking about it, the idea has changed a lot, from thinking about setting up a super healthy place, to doing it with a Greek souvlaki restaurant. Finally, we came to the conclusion that we wanted to do round donuts that look like planets ”, comments Carlos.
They have invented donut dough, making recipe after recipe until they find the right one. Every day, and several times a day, they bring out new batches. The idea? Be totally free and do whatever comes to mind.
They have started with 12 flavors between sweet and salty . The sweets range from flavors such as matcha tea, raspberry and white chocolate, cheesecake, oreo, chocolate, peanut butter with jam (the most typical of the UK), to dulce de leche, sweet popcorn...
And of course the #000 Galactic glaze that have vanilla syrup inside and a colored white chocolate glaze on the outside, shaping the most colorful and galactic donuts.

But if something especially caught our attention, those were the salty flavors . What they do is cut the dough in half and fill it as a small bite. So far they have included three on the menu, each one more delicious: Kentucky BBQ Pork slow-cooked pork served with pork rinds on top; a supreme Duck Attack of duck confit with spicy mayonnaise and sesame ice cream ; and the newest, with pizza flavor.
complete the offer with organic coffee, tea, shakes and smoothies with natural fruits. The idea is to add a fridge soon with very cool salads so you can have one, a couple of donuts and fix your food.
