Talk about Josephine House is to talk about a concept that changed the way of understanding the rural as soon as it opened its doors, back in April 2007. Even then, Pablo Lopez Navarro and Inigo Aragon they defined it as a house-hotel, "a full rental house in which we put at the service of customers the comforts of a hotel".

Now, after completing a new interior design that is even more impressive than the previous one, the creative couple evokes how the project came about: “The idea was born on a trip to Morocco. We wanted to create a business where we could combine our experience in tourism (Pablo) and in design (Íñigo).

"The Rioja then began to run as the food and wine destination which it is today, and we thought it was a good region to put ourselves to the test. Once we narrowed down what would be there, we explored everything thoroughly. La Rioja has seven valleys, and Sorzano's location, in the central valley, next to the capital, seemed perfect to us. We bought the house from Íñigo's family and got down to work to turn it into a summer house, favoring wide common spaces, light colors and coherent combinations of pieces and furniture”.

With their sights set on a new project today, this time near Madrid, they explain their view of the rural world: "We look in the villages a slower, more direct, more local, more intransmissible experience of life, an immersion that involves all the senses”
