Photographs taken with drones are, to say the least, fascinating. For the fifth consecutive year, the International Drone Photography Contest , organized by dronestagram , in which photographers from all over the world, both professional and amateur, have participated.
Thursdays chose three photographs among all the existing categories (nature, urban, people, creative...), which was not an easy job since thousands of proposals were submitted.
The winning photograph of the first prize was 'Hungry Hippos', by @zekedrone, a snapshot of a group of hippos splashing happily in the mud.
In second place was 'Fishing net in Vietnam', directed by Trung Pham, an impressive snapshot that shows a fishing boat in the middle of the sea whose net looks like a northern lights in the middle of the ocean.

In third place was the snapshot entitled ' 2 people, 2 dogs and 4 shadows', by @qliebin, that shows a walk along the seashore in which the shadows take center stage.

In addition to the three well-deserved awards, there are many more snapshots that are worth contemplating –and that make you want to run to buy a drone–. These are some of our favorites.
