Toledo to release a theme park dedicated to the History of Spain in 2019

We are going to like Toledo even more!

8 minutes from the historic center of Toledo , the 140 hectares of Finca Zurraquín are the enclave chosen to display the sets, the fictional towns and the shows that will shape a theme park that, with its inauguration in 2019, opens to attendees the possibility of traveling through the key moments in the history of Spain , from the Celtiberians to the 19th century.

The historical legitimacy, the cultural richness, its strategic geographical location, the tourist potential of the region and the good reception it has received from the administrations are some of the reasons that led Puy du Fou to opt for Toledo as the headquarters for this new park, which will involve an investment of 197 million euros.

The facilities will follow the model that the company has been betting on for 40 years in its park in France (south of Nantes): recreate the "splendour of civilizations by staging great historical spectacles through authentic sets in the heart of a wonderful natural environment", they indicate in a statement.

Now we have to wait until 2019 . It will be then when the park shows what paste it is made of and invites us to whet our appetites with a night show lasting 1 hour and 15 minutes. A total of 300 actors, riders and technicians will display their know-how on a huge 10-hectare stage and before some 400 spectators.

Already in 2020 Puy du Fou will open the first phase of its day park in which the History of Spain will be covered up to the Golden Age in 30 hectares of land, where nature will alternate with two outdoor and two indoor daytime shows lasting between 30 and 40 minutes. There will also be a historic village and restaurants.
