25 meters to live in the middle of the sea
Some years ago the Nordic cities decided stop living with your back to the sea that surrounds them. Now, joining this initiative is a striking floating island , soon to be followed by others nine plus. The project, designed by the architects ** Marshall Blecher ** and Magnus Maarbjerg, of **Fokstrot**, pretend continue to develop life in the old industrial ports from the city. "Until now, the island has been used for barbecue, take a dip, fish... It has even served to host some small events. And we were recently contacted by a couple who want to get married there !" The infrastructure of 25 meters, that It has a lime tree in the center, has been built by hand in the shipyards of the southern port of Copenhagen using traditional techniques. The rest of the islands will be made in the same way, forming an archipelago that can join for special celebrations, such as festivals.
As long as they are separated, each will have a purpose: there will be a sauna, gardens, mussel farms, diving platforms ... The idea of the architects is to go moving them to different zones, for example, to those less explored city , to catalyze the flow of inhabitants to new places.

The objectives that the authors pursue with this project are two: on the one hand, to create a new kind of public space what contribution "a little more fantasy and life" to the area and can compete with "the trend towards privatization and the overdevelopment of ports". And on the other, " reimagine the relationship between cities and the sea at a time of great urban development and rising ocean levels".
