Can a pretty town live solely on its beauty? Probably not, so it will need many other things to enhance its tourist attraction and its cultural wealth . The Eurona #InternetPatrimonioDeTodos contest arose from this idea, which aims to bring ultra-fast satellite broadband internet connection for free for one year to two of the towns in Spain included in the list of The Most Beautiful Towns in Spain.
THE CONTEST RULES
The idea is simple, any neighbor (or all together, since an unlimited number of people can participate) of one of these 104 idyllic villages you have to record a video that does not exceed one minute in length in which it originally argues the way in which having high-speed internet could change their lives and activate your economy.
After the council must send it (only one per municipality) to [email protected] before May 3 so that the jury, made up of institutional representatives and journalists committed to depopulation, decides which are the two most creative recordings or the ones that best expose those ideas that will effectively contribute to fight against inequality of opportunities in rural areas. The name of the two winning towns will be announced on Monday, May 17, coinciding with World Internet Day.

THE AWARD
“How can the internet make your beautiful town a #Requetebonito town?” is the question that must be answered in 60 seconds. You can talk about the future, about advantages, about how poor or no internet connection is limiting your opportunities… The theme is free, however the ultimate goal is for residents to explain how having a high-speed Internet connection could benefit them, shorten the digital gap, create employment or promote economic activity in the town.
It is expected that the two winners of the Eurona #InternetPatrimonioDeTodos contest will have the free internet connection of up to 100 Mpbs via satellite in the month of July 2021 (until July 2022) in the public spaces of the town determined in collaboration with the town hall.

It should be remembered that not just any town can be included in the list of the most beautiful in Spain, since, in addition to being places of great beauty and personality, the villas must meet a series of requirements such as sustainability, cleanliness, having a certified architectural or natural heritage, etc. For this reason, in 2021 only 11 new towns have become part of this select and rural club: Agulo, Baños de la Encina, Beget, Bulnes, Cudillero, Garachico, Genalguacil, Molinaseca, Nuevo Baztán, Roncal and Valverde de la Vera. .
