The hotel where you can stretch out the summer (and start autumn off on the right foot) is in Ibiza

Anonim

September is a month of contrasts: of sun and clouds, of waves and asphalt, of sandals and boots, of post-vacation syndrome and collegiate euphoria, of suspenders by day and a cardigan by night.

The gold of your skin is slowly going down the drain and the photos of palm trees and sunsets in the beach , which you took a few weeks ago, look like a century ago.

But it's not all bad news, far from it. The arrival of September also implies new beginnings, new challenges, new opportunities and new escapades!

We know you don't want to put summer behind you yet – and neither do we – so we've come up with the perfect getaway where we cling to the sea a little more.

Where? On the east coast of our favorite island. Exact place? The hotel ME Ibiza, an oasis facing the Mediterranean where luxury, always present, has that bohemian and relaxed point that we could only find in a paradise like the largest of the Pitiusas.

Wherever you look at the sea.

Wherever you look: the sea.

LOCATION

The ME Ibiza, a member of The Leading Hotels of the World, is located in a beautiful bay near Santa Eulalia del Rio , but far enough away to enjoy absolute tranquility and privacy - that's why many celebrities They choose it as their five-star island retreat.

Its location on the seafront is one of its main attractions, and it is that here, the blue horizon is never lost sight of. When you wake up, just draw the curtain to face the Mediterranean from your own room and breakfast is served in the Bianco Mare restaurant, with views of the ocean, of course.

In addition, both the main pool and the rooftop pool have views of the sea from any point and the hotel enjoys direct access to a charming pier and a small beach.

Can you ask for more? Of course! Right next to the hotel is the famous Nikki Beach, one of the most famous beach clubs with the best atmosphere in Ibiza.

Less than 10 minutes by car is the town of Santa Eulalia del Río, which has an attractive port, a promenade where you can walk leisurely, fashion and craft shops and an architectural complex at whose highest point we find the parish church, the Puig de Missa.

DECORATION AND STYLE

The first impression when entering the hotel lobby could not be more evocative. Everything seems to tell us: “relax, we take care of everything”.

The lobby is a diaphanous and spacious area that breathes the Mediterranean in every corner: white dominates the color palette with some touches of blue and pink, egg-shaped wicker chairs hang from the ceiling and there are also plants, wooden furniture, mirrors and candles.

Everything arranged in the right measure to achieve a minimalist space that at the same time is welcoming to the visitor.

By the way, since we have entered the door, the sea has accompanied us in the distance, because even from the reception you can see in the distance that mass of salt water that we have been looking for in this getaway that aims to stretch the summer as long as possible.

BEDROOMS

The rooms of this five-star hotel follow the same Mediterranean and relaxed aesthetic as the rest of the hotel. White tones, relaxed style and all kinds of comforts without skimping on details.

The amenities by aveda invite you to recreate under the rain effect shower and the bed is the closest thing to a cloud where you can rest deeply and dream of the waves.

Some suites have a Jacuzzi and even a private pool. Our favourite? Without a doubt, the ME suite, 400 square meters, overlooking the garden and the Mediterranean and direct access to the main pool.

BREAKFAST

If we had to score from 1 to 10 the breakfast from ME Ibiza... we would skip the rule and give it an 11! The display that awaits us every morning on the ground floor terrace It has all the ingredients that we can ask for at this time of day.

First of all, the sea views –which well deserve to be mentioned again and again–. In second place, the staff, always attentive to anything we ask for: juice, coffee, tea, smoothies...

And third, but by no means least, the variety and quality of the buffet, a tour that deserves to be observed without haste, until the end, and then choose (although this is difficult) how many of these appetizing morsels to bring to the table.

Fresh fruit and salads, natural juices, cold cuts, cereals, a wide selection of pastries (croissants, snails, Neapolitans, cakes...), yogurts, eggs, nuts, bacon, churros and a gluten-free section where options are not lacking.

In addition, in the kitchen (view) they prepare hot dishes on the spot such as omelettes, scrambled eggs, pancakes, crepes, etc.

DUCKS TO WATER!

The main pool, overlooking the sea –as you may have intuited–, it has Balinese beds and sun loungers distributed in a garden where you can sunbathe or take a nap sheltered in the shade of the trees. How could it be otherwise in Ibiza, every day, a DJ entertains the pool users with music and the Noura restaurant takes care of filling their stomachs.

On the roof terrace, and without losing the views of the blue sea, we find an amazing infinity pool where to feel the true king of the island and toast to the end of summer with the delicious cocktails they prepare at the Radio Rooftop Bar.

IN THE TABLE

ME Ibiza has several gastronomic spaces , What White Mare –in the heart of the hotel, next to the swimming pool–, which proposes a Mediterranean menu sprinkled with Italian influences and, of course, another good portion of sea views.

We strongly recommend that you try the tomato, burrata and avocado carpaccio, made with fresh and local ingredients.

They are just as appetizing pizzas cooked in a wood oven and pasta, such as the tasty spaghetti nero di cuttlefish with lobster and prawns.

We are now going to the roof to discover Radio ME Ibiza Rooftop Bar , a refuge on the heights where you can eat and dine with 360º views of the bay , Accompanied by rhythms chill out and original cocktails.

And although the panorama during the day is spectacular, at night, dinners take place in a most relaxed and cosmopolitan atmosphere, with exceptional service and a show kitchen from which exquisite dishes such as the tuna tataki with a duo of sesame seeds and teriyaki, the grilled shrimp with Ibiza salt, the mini “Surf & Turf” burger with Wagyu and lobster or the mini Chateaux with beef tenderloin and potatoes.

And finally, we come to what has become one of the summer restaurants in Ibiza: the Lebanese Noura, which we already told you about here.

After reaping successes in cities like Paris, Cannes and Monte Carlo , Noura has finally landed in Spain thanks to ME by Melia. The result? Noura x ME Ibiza , a restaurant and pool bar that proposes a true gastronomic journey through the flavors of the Mediterranean, to enjoy day and night.

We have repeated, and surely you will too, since Noura's menu offers a wide variety of options, each more delicious, such as the classic falafel, the kebbe (some tasty marinated beef meatballs) and the fatayer green (a kind of dumplings stuffed with lemon spinach and pine nuts).

They are just as recommended shawarma (a typical Middle Eastern dish made by cutting thin slices of lamb meat) and grilled octopus with tahini. The Mezze Delight assortment will not disappoint you either.
